Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1951 Ford Victoria convertible. It is not running but is complete as far as the original drive train and every other part of the car. It's a 3spd on the floor and the transmission will shift into gear and hold, also the rear will allow it to roll freely. It's a flat head V8 though I'm not sure the specific size. This car will need to be towed I bought this car as a package deal with a 1964 Impala and wanted the Impala so I don't have a lot of information on this car but I'll give you what I know and will look into any questions you may have. This is an original convertible car, the whole convertible frame is there and present. Most of the glass is there, though I know the passenger window is cracked. The dash is original and complete, seat frames are there though the interior has seen much better days. If you buy this car expect it to be a parts car or a total restoration, would also be perfect for a rat rod project. It sat for many years and was saved by the gentleman I bought it off of as the original owner passed away and his wife was going to have it scrapped. I don't know the extent of the frame, it all appears to be there but as far as it's condition I did not crawl under the car to look closely though it appears to be okay for a car of this age at the glance I did take. The trunk floor is gone and I'd expect the floor boards to need replaced too though sitting in the car when I got it they did feel pretty solid. I think I touched on everything but please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. 50% of sale price will need to be made within 24hrs of auctions end, the remaining can be given upon pickup or however you see fit prior to the car being taken from my property. This car will need to be picked up within one week of auctions end and is located in Bedford Ohio. I apologize for the pictures. The car is in a crowded garage and the only camera I have is on my phone which takes narrow pictures. On May-12-11 at 14:17:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey guys, when you have a car that you're trying to sell online you try to think of all the information and when you think you have it all you realize you forget things so I'm going to add the information that you guys let me know that I left out. I apologize for the pictures, I took some more today so I'm going to post those. I'll try my best to explain the condition from a person who has seen it with their own eyes. I had to run out to the garage to take a look at the car again today for some other Ebayers so I had the answers to everyones questions. I'll be adding more pictures so you can see most of what I'll explain. Starting in the front fenders, the lower rear portion is through and will need patched, the rest of the front fenders are solid. The doors are solid, though there is some really old body work on the drivers door. The bottom of the rear quarters need work also, upper part appears to be in good shape. Trunk lid is solid though needs a little bondo work in a section on the left hand side, hood looks good. The frame looks good though it has some rust as to be expected from a car this old and none of it looks compromising of the frames integrity. The floor boards look okay but I could only see so much of it without being able to crawl under the car, knocking on them they appear to be solid. Also the running boards appear to be solid with no rust. Also I want to add that it appears that someone had tried to make this a rat rod sort of car, maybe back in the 80's. There is some old body work on the drivers door, but also as you see in the front, the grill isn't a 51 grill, the interior looks like someone had done all white over an original red and white interior. Lastly the shifter is on the floor with a shift box, I took a picture of it. Also a few questions have come in about the title and I thought I had hit that but explaining everything I forgot the most important part. The last owner to have this car titled passed away. The gentleman I bought the car and the Impala from saved the two from the elder wife who was going to have them scrapped. He was unable to get the title for the Ford as she couldn't find it. I do have all the information about the guy such as his full name, address, SS# ect. I will pass this information along to the buyer along with a bill of sale. I live in Ohio and I know upon calling the DMV they informed that in order to get the car titled in my name, it would have to be a fully functioning car that would pass the State Highway Patrol inspection. The inspection is $25, or was a year ago. After that you could fill out papers to have a new title issued in your name. But of course not every state is the same. The original title is from Kentucky. Please check with your local DMV on title reissue for specific answers.
