Vehicle Detail
This Mercedes wagon has been equipped with special German fuel injectors that can run on any combination of 100% diesel to 100% vegetable oil, without any modification or turning of knobs or anything like that. Have a look at the photo's below. The conversion is a very clean, non-slimy, oil free conversion, with crimped chemical proof fuel lines, heat exchanger, special injectors, modified glow plug timer, and a larger capacity filter. All of which has been rock solid and reliable. The goal was to have it look like a factory install. Have a look at the photo's below. The vehicle as reliable as it has been for me for the last hundred thousand miles has many small but annoying broken items and am not recommending the sale of this vehicle to any individual that is expecting a new Toyota like daily driver. I feel at 300,000 miles any and all vehicles are unreliable. It's just I have put so many cool and unique work and effort into the fueling system, that I don't want to give this car away but feel uncomfortable selling it to anyone expecting a problem free ride. I am a mechanic with six employees and simply don't have any more time to deal with the veggie oil and frankly need a newer vehicle myself. Here is a list of items that are broken or worn. The odometer stopped working at 255,000 miles. I am listing the mileage at 300,000 miles, to be safe but it probably has less. The fuel tank takes forever to fill. The sunroof does not work. The air conditioning was repaired and lasted only 6 months. Looks like the refrigerant is leaking from the compressor. The rear rumble seat is not original has a fat worn spot as well as a bleached spot where a Clorox bottle fell on its side. (refer to pictures). The plastic passenger side seat control needs replacing. The cast plastic nob has broken. The seat only slides back and forth but will not recline until the plastic knob is replaced. The antenna stopped telescoping up and down. The parking brake works so-so, the cruise control has never worked. The fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge work but the fuel gauge has dead spots and takes getting used to. The new items are as follows, the climate control computer was just replaced and works quite well. The main air conditioning lines wee replaced in order to get the air conditioning system to work, (as mentioned it worked great for six months only), new starter, new rear window and new rear window defrost, new fan belt tensioner and fan belt,, new radiator, regular oil changes. As of one year ago all six cylinders tested compression at 360 even. This is excellent if you are not aware of the numbers. The wagon gets about 26 MPG on Diesel and around 30 MPG on Veggie oil. I have a large 200+ gallon tote that I keep veggie oil in and gravity fuel from. If you have the room the tote comes with the wagon. Please email me if you have any questions. Thank You Mark
