Vehicle Detail

Someone is about to get a great deal! Up for sale is my 68 charger. I have owned this car for 26 years. It has been registered and driven somewhat all that time. This is not some rebuilt bondo/welded panel car. It is originally from California. I believe I am the third owner. The car has never seen snow and barely rain in all the time I've owned it. The car retains all it's original sheet metal. The floors and trunk are solid. I had the car painted and some minor body work done 23 years ago. Things I've done to the car since I bought it include: 440 dual quad engine that runs awesome. upgraded 727 tranny with tow and go pkg. reverse pattern manual valve body. complete suspension including heavy duty torsion bars and leaf springs. upgraded 11 inch manual disc brake conversion. stops great. all new rear brakes. tractech 8 and three quarter sure grip rear end with 3:55 ratio Strange gearset. Now for the best part....I have been collecting parts for years with the plan to bring the car back to it's original color scheme ( light blue metallic with a white vinyl roof ). About ten years ago I literally went through the Year One catalog and purchased anything pertaining to a 68 charger. New parts in the boxes inlude: white headliner, white vinyl roof, bumble bee stripe kit, antenna and bezel, quick fill gas cap and bezel. arm rest pads, pearl white door painels, sill plates, console carpet, new carpeting with underlay, speedo cable, cable gear for 3:55 ratio rear end, wiper arms and blades, engine gasket kit, side glass sealing weatherstipping, trunk weather stripping, front of hood seal, hood to cowl seal. miscellaneous clip sets, paint seal kit, hood depression stripe kit. sun visors, visor tips, tranny cooler lines, battery tray, tray braces, retro-look battery, interior screw kit, trunk mat, oil pan. valve covers, charger embossed floor mats, door handles with gaskets, window crank spacers, door lock knobs and ferrules, Other parts that i can think of inlude: New underdash wiring harness. used automatic valve body for 727 torqueflite tranny. Used center console chrome top plate with door. I replaced all the wiring under the hood and upgraded the ignition system to electronic. the carbs are carter 625 AFB's. Brand new battery. I'm sure there are more things that I've forgotten, but you get the idea. Now for the stuff that is messed up: There is some small rust low on some panels. see pics. the speedo doesn't work or the tic-toc tach. fuel and temp do. everything else works well including the hidden headlights. grill was restored. best i've seen. Just had the car inspected today and drove it around a little. Wow. The car is powerful. Questions? Call John at 508-878-0895. When you buy this car and see the parts i have you'll think it's Christmas. On May-11-11 at 14:00:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some pictures of the parts i have accumulated, just to make you Mopar guys drool. I knew i had more parts than those listed above. Too many to list separately. I found my lists that I sent to just Year One alone back in 03 and the parts ran me almost $3,000 in 2003 money. Not too mention all the parts I got from other sources. I hope someone with the skills and desire can use these to make the car a 10 out of 10. It really deserves it. Happy Bidding. On May-14-11 at 07:23:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to add that I just found the original build sheet that will go with the car as well as the original service manual. On May-14-11 at 07:33:33 PDT, seller added the following information: As I answer people's question I am reminded of other things about the car. I also want to add that the car currently has the original carpets albeit pretty worn. The interior you see in the pics is original except for the front seats. Those were recovered about 12 years ago.
