Highlights: I am selling my 1983 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham. It's a really fantastic car that I use regularly, and wouldn't hesitate to hop in it and drive anywhere. I've owned it for about three years, and I have enjoyed it very much, doing little more than general maintenance. It has 75,157 miles on it at the time of listing, but will have slightly more, as I drive it twice a week or so- I don't like to let cars sit for extended periods of time. I purchased this Toronado because of its fantastic condition, and that it has an extensive option list, with more than I generally see on a Toronado. Read below for a full list of optional equipment taken from the original window sticker. This car has been in California most of its life. It was sold new in Washington State, spent some time at a second home in the San Juan Channel Islands, then moved back to Los Angeles. The car is now located in Palm Springs. It has always been garaged. I am the second owner of the vehicle, and have its original window sticker and dealer packet that includes the owner's manual and warranty info. Body: This car is pretty darn flawless, if I don't say so myself. The body has no dents or visible evidence of repairs. There is a door ding on the driver's side below the quarter window. I will have this removed before sale is completed. The hood opens and closes easily, the struts are fine. The gap around the hood is fine and even. Both doors open and close with no issues from inside or out. The weatherstripping around both doors is in fantastic condition, and there are no leaks- either from wind or moisture. The door gaps are fine and even. The trunk opens and closes with its key, and the weatherstripping is in great condition and there are no leaks. The carpeting in the trunk is mar-free. The original spacesaver spare is in the trunk along with the jack. I do not believe they have ever been used. The hood and trunk lights both work. The vinyl landau roof is original, and shows very slight shrinkage at lower right and left corners, but I am likely the only one that notices this. The vinyl is soft and pliable. Both landau/opera lights work. The vinyl trim on both sides is in wonderful condition. There are no mars in the pinstriping. The paint has a deep and glossy shine that looks like fresh wet nail polish. There are no stone chips or scratches that I can see anywhere. There are two stone chips in windshield. One has been repaired, the other not. Both are small. Front and rear bumpers are in excellent condition, as are rubber on bumper guards. The body fillers are all in perfect condition. All headlights, side markers, cornering lamps, turn signals, and brake and taillights are in working order. The sunroof opens quietly and smoothly and there are no leaks. Interior: The interior is finished in Red Maple leather. It's really beautiful. All the leather and vinyl are in great condition, with no rips or flaws. The only condition issue I could find in the seating areas is on the side bolster seatback face near the edge of the seat. It is approx 1.5" and could be redyed, as it is not a tear. There is also a snag in the speaker cover of the BOSE speaker in the lower door. Neither of these flaws are large. The carpet is nice and plush, with tufts all in place, no thin areas of carpet or matching factory mats. The headliner and sail panels are in perfect condition, as are both sunvisors and sunroof slider panel. Both door panels are immaculate, save some nicking in the woodgrain behind door pull on driver's door only. All lighters work. The door TRACK/guide on front ashtray has cracked, but I have an NOS one that will go with the car. All dashboard lights work, as do audible tone reminders and optional warning lights. The Twilight Sentinel works perfectly, including the delay. The lighted door locks and interior lights work as well. All door panel lights work. Electric Door locks work on both switches, as do electric windos and both switches. Both Driver and Passenger electric seats work. All external lamp indicators are working, front and rear. The BOSE am/fm/cassette stereo works wonderfully and has a shockingly great sound. All six speakers are working. The clock in radio works, as door bass and treble adjustors, auto reverse on cassettes, and power antenna goes up and down as it did 28 years ago. The dome light and twin map lights both work, as does lighted vantiy visor. Horns work. Both remote mirrors work. The pulse wipers and windshield washer work. The dashpad is soft and has no cracks or flaws. The steering wheel is immaculate, with no splitting whatsoever, and there is no wear on the woodgrain on lower face of horn rim. There are no nicks or scratches around the ingnition switch or steering column housing. The heater works, but does not currently throw much heat, as I have a very cool thermostat in the car- necessary for the high desert tempratures. Powertrain: The engine starts easily and quietly, even after sitting several days. The car runs quietly, and shifts smoothly through all gears. I will not say that there are no leaks, as it does drip a little oil, but not even enough that oil needs to be added between changes (which is done every 3000 miles). I have all maintenance records for the past 3 years, and they will go with the car. The AC blows ICE COLD immediately. The car tracks straight at low or high speeds. The CV boots are nearly new. The brakes do not pull, squeak, or vibrate, even stopping car from high speed. I drive this car from Palm Springs to Los Angeles, and frequently have to slow down as it easily gets to 90MPH, so it can keep up with traffic. The gas mileage isn't too bad since it does have the optional overdrive. The engine compartment is clean and shows well. it is a very quiet and comfortable car to ride in, especially on longer highway speeds (I have taken it to San Luis Obispo, about a six-hour drive, and it never complains). The tires have about 90% of their life left. The rear tires are about a year older than the front ones, the front being approximately 6 months old.
