Vehicle Detail

1906 Cadillac Model M Touring 4-Passenger Double Tulip Car This fine piece of automotive history is a one cylinder chain drive vehicle with wood spoke wheels, white wall tires, brass lights and a black soft top. The car was featured in the Automotive Road of Dreams Museum for several years and was purchased from the famous Thomas Cadillac Collection in Los Angeles back in 1996. The car was previously restored before we purchased the car. The first Cadillac automobiles were built in 1902 and they used a "letter model" naming system on their cars from 1902 - 1908. It is our understanding that this particular car that we are offering is a 1906 Model M. The models E, F, K, M, S & T are all essentially the same vehicle with different bodies. The Automotive Road of Dreams car collection included numerous prized antique, classic, race, special interest and muscle cars from the early 1900's on... The museum was open to the public for several years and the autos in their collection were on display fulltime and never driven. The museum was housed in a 14,000 square foot building located in the heart of Coastal Southern California at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. See Chicago Tribune Article (10/11/2001): http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2001-10-11/business/0110110315_1_car-enthusiasts-coach-builder-vintage The museum closed a few years ago and part of the collection was sold at that time while several other cars have been stored away until now. This great car is part of the collection and it is being offered at auction on a "As-Is" basis due to the age of the vehicle and because this car has not been driven in many years. The photos were taken in the last few weeks, the car is complete as pictured and it ran well when it was brought to the museum. The car should run as the engine turns over but we weren't able to get the car started when we recently took the photographs because we haven't been able to locate the Hand Crank to start it. If/when we find the hand crank we will give it with the car or send it to the new owner. Notes: We put 0 miles in the listing information because there isn't a speedometer/odometer on this car. The Vehicle Identification Numer appears to be a number that was issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Please call Mark at 949-226-7053 if you have any questions about this car or if you would like to set an appointment to view the car before bidding. The cars are still located in Orange County, CA. *Don't forget to check out the other cars from this collection that we are currently offering on eBay.
