Vehicle Detail

1970 Dodge Sweptline D100. Former Forestry Service truck. 73,200 original miles. Slant 6 225ci motor & 4 speed granny gear transmission. Body is in good shape with no cancerous rust issues... Some surface rust, nothing serious. Dent on hood & small dent in body line on driver's door. Starts, runs & drives but would require a new oil pan to be a daily driver. Oil pan was damaged by steering stabilizer that broke free of the mount. What is has: • New aftermarket wiring harness • New 60 amp Alternator • New water pump • New thermostat & housing • Cooling system recently cleaned & flushed - New hoses • New electric fuel pump (Fuel system also recently cleaned from front to back) • Freshly rebuilt carb • New fuel filters • Fuel tank relocated • New hard & soft fuel lines • New spark plugs & tube gaskets • New voltage regulator & ballast resistor • Aftermarket electric fans - switch operated • Valves adjusted • Axles flipped for approximately 6" drop • Air bags in back (3"-10" 200 PSI) • Rotors from Crown Vic up front with Wagoneer calipers (Custom made brackets) • GM master cylinder, booster & proportioning valve • New pads & shoes • Many new or replaced suspension parts, tie rods, shocks, custom drag link... etc. • 2:93 gears • '06 Mustang wheels • Tires are good • '80s 4x4 Toyota power steering & box • A/C - need to finish installation • New hardware everywhere that could be reached • Custom exhaust from exhaust manifold to back dump • All lights & signals work And much more with many spare parts included. What it needs: • Oil pan replaced • Rubber seals on windows & doors • Steering stabilizer to combat bump steer • Minor body work - Roof also has holes from where Forestry Service roller lights were mounted • Interior work - Carpet, headliner, various hardware & switches • Need to run hoses for heat & A/C to vents • Radio • Finish installation of A/C & components • Side marker lights in fenders & rears • New owner This is a really great start to a cool pick up hot rod project. Needs to go to a home with the time & the money to finish it right. *All shipping arrangements to be made by BUYER, if vehicle is to be shipped. On May-04-11 at 17:53:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Truck is also listed for sale locally... I reserve the right to end the auction early should a buyer come thru. On May-05-11 at 07:18:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions about the oil pan... I would not drive it without replacing or fixing it. It is dented & cracked from the stabilizer bar impact & will need to be replaced or repaired to prevent oil loss & overheating. On May-05-11 at 14:12:09 PDT, seller added the following information: The truck can be started & driven onto a transporter or trailer. No problem. The only thing keeping it off the road is the need to repair/replace the oil pan. On May-06-11 at 07:51:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I just wanted to clarify somethings in the above description... I noted that it was GM master cylinder & booster... The Master & booster are actually '72 Dodge... the proportioning valve is GM. The calipers are '70-'86 GM & not Wagoneer as I stated. Spindles are Dodge with new kingpins. Has Dodge hubs with the outer lip machined down a bit to fit inside rotors. Rotors are '95-'97 Crown Vic. Steering box is late '80s Toyota 4X4 with the throw shortened & an aftermarket pitman arm. Pump is still Dodge. Bumper is not original as the Forestry Trucks had a large "working bumper" on them. Swapped out for a light duty factory bumper. Which are rare. Hope this helps clear up a few questions. I will also include my notebook that has the details of parts used & what not. • Sometimes it's hard to remember it all until someone asks for pictures & I look at notes again... A million different thoughts went into it... Apologies for the discrepancies. Thanks for all of the interest.
