Vehicle Detail
This sale is for a 1997 Chevrolet Express 3500 Box Truck. This truck has the 6.5L V8 Diesel engine and has only 70,241 miles on it. This truck is government surplus, it was stationed at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, about an hour south of Boise. The VIN - Vehicle Identification Number - is correct. However, since the vehicle was made for the government, specifically the military, the VIN is not eligible for a public history report. As a government military vehicle it was used as fleet service. The body of the truck is in overall poor shape. However, the core components are in excellent shape. The engine, suspensions, and steering, braking, all are great. The following components have been recently replaced with new ones: Radiator Starter Motor Fuel injector Fuel pump New oil and filters, changed this week Brake system completely redone, new fluid, excellent braking 2 Brand new Batteries, purchased and installed this week Truck has A FULL TANK of diesel, 20 gallons, $80 worth of diesel A spare water pump and a spare flywheel cover plate are also included. I purchased this truck from the government and flew to Idaho to retrieve it. However, as I was driving the truck south, the hose that links the transmission to the radiator blew. Transmission fluid leaked out, making the transmission work without it. This in turn ruined the transmission. The truck is currently parked at the city of Price, Utah, about an hour and a half south of Salt Lake City. It will drive very slowly because of the damaged transmission, and is in no shape to leave the city unless its transmission is changed or it is towed out. Had it not been for the transmission giving out, and if I lived closer to Utah, I would have kept the vehicle for myself as it has very low mileage for its age and would be an excellent work truck for me. My loss is your gain. The vehicle is being priced accordingly to sell. Buyer would need to pay $100 for the title. Of course, if you plan to take the vehicle apart for parts, a title is not necessary. The truck has a temporary tag which lasts until May 27th. Vehicle is being sold AS IS. A PayPal deposit is required within 3 days of auction end. The remainder of payment must be made as a check by mail within 7 days of auction end. As I am not currently in Utah, I will not be able to meet you in person, but I will mail you the documentation and car keys as soon as payment is received.
