Laugh in the face of soaring gas prices with this little beauty! Get hybrid like fuel economy without having to break the bank or pay any of those ridiculous dealer markups! Not that I am trying to compare this to a late model hybrid in terms of technology, but I am comparing it in terms of fuel efficiency (40-45 mpg's!). Take a look at this clean little 1988 Ford Festiva LX! Powered by a 1.3 liter 4 cylinder motor that produces 76 HP and 83 lb/ft of torque, it is not going to win very many drag races. But, it is plenty zippy enough to get to freeway speeds with ease. It runs great, and when these cars are taken care of as well as this one they have been known to go 300,000+ miles! Since this is the up-level LX model, it comes with a 5-speed transmission rather then a 4-speed. The trans shifts very smoothly and sends power to the front wheels. The interior of the car is in good shape as you can see from the pictures, but a good steam cleaning couldn't hurt. The seats are very comfortable, even on those long trips. The dash has no cracks, and all the glass is in good shape. Everything works as it should with the exception of the gas gauge (works intermittently). Not many creature comforts, but it does have the most important one - an ice cold air conditioner! It works very well. It has the stock am/fm/cassette radio. The turn signals work, but you have to hold the lever until your turn is complete, not a big deal. The rear seats also fold down for more cargo space. The exterior of the car is painted in the original white coating. It does have minor pitting and scratches, but overall it looks OK. The body is in decent shape, but it does have a couple of dents here and there. Nothing the Ding King couldn't repair if you really wanted to make it perfect. Since this is a California car, rust is not an issue. The Festiva has good tires equipped on alloy wheels. So there you have it. If you are looking for a great car that will get you awesome fuel economy, then look no further. But please remember, although this Ford is in good shape both mechanically and cosmetically, it is a 23 year old car and is not perfect. The new owner will be very happy with his/her new car, and all bidders will be happy with the NO RESERVE auction! Please bid with confidence that this Festiva is as described. Now for the boring, yet necessary part. This Festiva is being sold as is/where is. If you want to fly in and drive it home, I can pick you up from the nearest airport (Ontario, Ca).
