Vehicle Detail

I am selling my rare and unique bike. It is a HONDAMATIC! This is an automatic motorcycle with NO CLUTCH. That’s right, no clutch. It has two gears and you shift between the two with your left foot like in a regular bike, but there is no need to depress a clutch. You don't even have to switch gears; you can leave it on second gear and ride all you want. Where the clutch normally goes is a parking brake. This is perfect for someone who wants to ride a bike but does not have to deal with a clutch. It is also perfect for someone who may have a disability restricting the use of the left hand. This bike is easy to ride because you only have to concentrate on the riding, not the gear shifting. Since it is only 400cc, it is the perfect bike for a beginner. It is not too heavy and easy to maneuver in traffic. Some of the features include: parking brake, kick and electric start, chain drive, locking gas cap, aftermarket loud pipes and fuel tank shutoff petcock and crash bar. The top speed is 65-70 MPH depending on weight of rider. The bike runs, stops and is a lot of fun to ride. The only issue with the bike is that shortly after I bought it, the odometer/speedo stopped working. Since that time, I have put less than 500 miles on it and currently the odometer reads less than 15,650. Not bad for a thirty year old bike. Also, I would recommend cleaning the carb. It sat around for a while and although it starts with little problem, it runs a little rough sometimes so a carb cleaning should be done. The bike is 31 years old and the paint on the gas tank is a little worn and it has minor dings consistent with a bike of this age, but it has never been dropped nor crashed. For a 31 year old bike, it is in excellent shape. It has electric start and comes with two keys. The bike has a choke which should be pulled all the way out before starting to assure that ir does start. Once it is running, the choke can be pushed back in. Since it has a carburetor, it has a petcock which needs to be opened before it starts to let fuel into the carb. If you run out of ga,the switch can be moved to the reserve where you will have enough gas to make it to a gas station. The previous owner changed the locks on the fork lock and the helmet lock and I do not have a key for that, but a locksmith could re-key those locks. That was never important to me so I did not have it done. The bike comes with its original tool kit that is stored under the seat and with the owner's manual which goes in a compartment under the seat. The seat was previously recovered and is in excellent shape. It has a new battery and the tires have about 500 miles on them. I am selling it because I am concentrating on different toys like my antique motorcycle with sidecar (also a Hondamatic). I hate to see this bike just sitting there. It needs a new owner who will give it the love that it deserves and will ride it. I have the title in hand ready to be signed over to the new owner. It is not a flawless bike, but it runs nice and is fun to ride. For the price, you will get a pretty good deal. Here are a couple of videos of the bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JbYVf9MZYQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SY0S_vNHHI I have set a very reasonable reserve for this bike for a quick sale. $400 deposit via PayPal and the remainder in cash or certified check. Check with me before bidding if you would like to pay the balance in a different manner. I will not sign the title over to the new owner nor will the bike be taken away from my home until all funds clear. Additionally, I will not sell it with an open title. Once the Hondamatic is paid for, I will write the name of the new owner on the title transfer. The Hondamatic is sold as is and where is with no express or implied guarantee or warranty. I have tried to describe it to the best of my ability. If you have any questions, please ask. I will answer them promptly. Arranging and paying for shipping is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I cannot ship nor deliver the Hondamatic. I will gladly be available to assist your shipping company when they come to pick it up. The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early if it sells. Important: If you have less than 5 feedback, please contact me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. Please ask any question about this auction. Good luck and happy bidding!!!
