Vehicle Detail

Thanks for taking a look at my 2000 Dodge Durango SLT 4 x 4! Dodge really got it right when they took the successful midsize Dakota and made an SUV out of it. Not too big; not too small. 360 v8 engine, big truck-like towing capacity and off-road capability, and cool "big rig" looks. First Impressions: The body is in decent shape, with no major issues. There are some rust spots and places where the paint is beginning to bubble, and there are typical surface scratches and minor dings you're likely to find on a truck of its age. Overall, it cleans up nicely, as you'll see in the pictures below. Ground clearance is good, without being extreme. There are few subtle hints as to the truck's performance, such as the all-terrain Goodyear tires, and the stainless steel Dynomax exhaust tip. There's also a towing hitch bolted to the frame (what's a truck if it can't tow?). Under The Hood: This Durango is an SLT, so it has the 5.9L (360cid) Magnum v8 engine and 4WD. The engine is mostly stock, with the exception of an upgraded exhaust in early 2010, and a new transmission pan at about the same time. The engine bay is clean and straightforward, and regular maintenance items like the air and oil filter are easy to get to. Rather than trade it in for the newer minivan that we need, we decided to sell it directly. The 4WD works great, and is shift-on-the-fly, which really came in handy last winter! The 4WD and 7-passenger seating alone make this thing worth far more than what I'm asking for it, but there are limitations to buying an older vehicle (banks don't like loaning on vehicles more than 7 years old), so I'm starting this item low. The Durango has a clean and clear title (no lien, never salvaged, etc.). I've taken very good care of it, including regular oil changes and other maintenance, and everything has been logged. The most recent work was a set of spark plugs, just 1000 miles ago. Although it is a reliable daily driver for us, there are issues with the Durango; some are just minor annoyances, and some that should be addressed. There is an intermittent hesitation under low-RPM operation, that subsides as engine speed increases. The engline light comes on occasionally because of this. Since I just changed the spark plugs, I suspect the distributor cap & rotor, or O2 sensor, but haven't had a chance to properly diagnose, yet. The A/C compressor went out last fall, and with winter coming, was just not a priority, and hasn't been repaired. The stereo is factory original, and has problems with some of the buttons (controls on the steering wheel work fine, though). The radio plays fine, but the CD player is getting picky about what it plays, problaby from dust and age. The rear driver side window does not roll down. Lastly, I removed the OEM mechanical cooling fan when the water pump was replaced a couple years ago, and wired the A/C fan as the primary cooling fan. Aside from that, it's a decent rig, and still has plenty of life left in it. I've done my best to describe this item, however I am human and, subsequently, imperfect. I'm sure to leave out some detail, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Read the descriptions. Look at the images. Think about what you're bidding on before you bid. If you have any questions, just ask- I'm just an email away. Keep in mind, this is a used vehicle, and I make no warranty, expressed or implied. It should go without saying, but don't bid on this item if you don't actually want it. Don't bid on it if you can't afford it, or don't plan on paying for it. Please don't bid on this if you have very low feedback, or if you have a significant amount of negative feedback. Ten percent deposit to be made withn 72 hr. of auction close, and remainder to be payable on receipt of item. I will not ship the Durango. You can drive or trailer it home, or I can deliver it within 250 mi. (of ZIP Code 63379) for $1 per mile.
