Vehicle Detail
Hello, I bought this travelall about 6 years ago in California. It was owned from 1968 until then, by an older man. I didnt meet him, as he died just before I went to go get it. It was in Lake Almanor California. It was painted many years ago, and it was originally the best color, a metallic teal, now a lighter green. There a couple small dents in the roof, and a very minor amount of rust behind the pass. side rear wheel. IT IS MINOR. The rest of the truck is solid, and clean. I had the seats recovered, new carpet and insulation under that put in, and at that time, cleaned the floors, which are extremely solid -NO RUST. The gas tanks were taken out, professionally cleaned and sealed. It was a several hundred dollars. Only one tank is in it at the moment, the other is ready to go in. I had all the wheel cylinders replaced or rebuilt and new brakes installed as well by "Boise Battery and Brake", owned by two older brothers that knew Internationals VERY WELL..it was done right. It stops perfectly straight, and quiet. It has power steering that is tight, and quiet, no front end noises at all. The tires are nearly new, well, three of the four. They are wider, bf goodrich tires. I had a new fuel pump, line, filter and new carb. put on it as well. I also had the valve cover gaskets replaced. It has fresh oil in it. I think all the lights, inside and out work. One of the door hinges on the driver door needs to be replaced, as do the felts on the door windows. The glass is tinted (slight green not clear) and I dont think there is a crack or chip anywhere. I either replaced or had the electric rear window motor rebuilt. The travelall was bought and intended for my wife, but, another one came up for sale on ebay that was just right, teal and white, and she just likes it better. I have had alot of the repairs done that are time consuming and not fun. At this time, the travelall needs a paint job, (your choice on color this way) a door hinge, the 2nd gas tank, and the headliner replaced. The dash, seats, carpet are nice. All the arm rests are in the back with the filler hoses for the second tank. I need to mention that the motor runs so quite and smooth, it is amazing. Most Internationals have a tick, or an exhaust leak, or carb issue etc. THIS HAS NONE OF THOSE COMMON ISSUES. You will look a long time to find a travelall this body style, this clean, and ready for you to choose a color that you like. You will not be stuck with mechanical bill, and other ongoing issues. If you choose to buy it now, the truck stays as it is shown. IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE WHEELS HUBCAPS AND TIRES, deduct 600.00 THIS APPLIES TO THE FINAL SALE PRICE AS WELL, YOU CHOOSE IF YOU WANT THEM OR NOT. I will put some wheels/tires on it, nothing special. Thanks for reading, IF YOU WANT IT DELIVERED ON A TRAILER, TO WA. or OR. I may do it for a fair price as I go there often. I will include a front bumper off a parts truck, but its nothing great for an additional 50.00. They are very hard to find. The rear load area is as nice/original as I have seen, not perfect, but nice, not rotten or rusty. Please feel free to ask questions about the travelall, I am interested in a easy transaction, no disasters. Please be ready to pay for the truck if you buy it, I dont want to have to ask, or wonder if the sale is really going to happen. I am not excited about selling it with all the work I have put into it, but we are happy with the 64 teal and white one, and its time to let this one go. If it doesn't sell, I am likely to have it painted the original teal color, and relist it. Thanks for reading. David
