Vehicle Detail

Vehicle has engine rod knock. Vehicle drives but engine will need to be rebuilt. Also please Note the photo of the Odometer states 99,785 miles. I have no way of knowing if this is the original odometer and kind of doubt it is. I don't actually know how many miles the vehicle has on it. According to the certificate of title the production year of the vehicle is 1982. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Volkswagen 1.9 Ltr. Turbo Diesel Double Cab Vanagon Pick Up Truck. Everyone has requested I add more photos of the interior so I am doing just that. Vehicle still drives and moves but now there is bearing noise. I lost motor oil while driving at night. The dash gauge was never fully connected and the oil light did not go on. By the time I heard the noise the damage was done. The truck is a super rare and very cool thing to drive around. Parts are easy to get mainly because it uses Vanagon parts and there are alot of good sources for parts on Vanagon Web Sites. I run a diesel repair shop for large trucks and equipment in Northern California, and I just am too busy to put another motor in it. I spent the last six years waiting to fix it up and I finally started working on it a year ago. But now after this event my heart is no longer in it. Best I could figure I was getting around 29-31 MPG. The motors are available from importers that ship used 1.9 ltr non-electronic motors from Germany. Their seems to be quite a following of non-tdi 1.9 (1.9 liter TD non electronic) diesel motors that are bought used in the US and are dropped into Suzuki's, Wrangler's and smaller vehicles like these trying to achieve extreme mileage success. The truck is rough. No real body rot but as you can see has surface rust where the side and rear gates folded in. The front end bushings creep and squeak. The bushings are not worn and the ride was perfect but they need to be replaced at some point. The rear CV axle, is popping and clicking, the fuel tank vent lines up top need to be hooked up, the dash gauge wiring and speedometer assembly needs to be hooked up. I don't think it is the original speedometer assembly. It worked when I bought it six years ago but unfortunately did not make it a priority to hook up. The muffler still needs installing, and finally when a new motor is installed the crankcase vent needs to be relocated to the valve cover so the leak will not occur again. The vehicle was driven around in its current condition for years before I bought it. My intention was to drive it and work on it as I had time, but so much for this project. The injection pump was rebuilt at Diamond Diesel just before the motor blew. We updated the motor mounts to allow the cooling of the turbo. The original install on the motor notched out the original motor mount on the driver's side but that didn't allow for air flow. We took away the original mount and added two smaller mounts on the driver's side far away from the turbo, to maximize cooling. I also have an inter-cooler under the rear bench seat that I was intending to install. We also leveled the motor so the flat deep pan is level with the bottom of the vehicle and out of the way of curbs and things such as that. The Vin # on the Certificate Of Title was issued as WV2ZZZ24ZCH099325 and was issued when brought into the country. The vehicle is located and registered in California. The year of the Vanagon is 1982 not 1980. I do possess the certificate of title. I will try to post more pictures due to requests. Sorry about the re listing but wanted to be absolutely sure about the mileage thing not being misunderstood. Good luck and Happy Bidding.
