Vehicle Detail

1985 Mustang GT 5.0. 28500 original miles 3rd owner.. local car AC/ power windows, locks, Power Steering, brakes, etc. T-Tops: that DO NOT LEAK!!!!!!! All records since new. orignal window sticker, build sheet, owners manual, sales brochure, every reciept, maintence record, work performed, etc since new. I just had 2k of professonal work to bring it up to daily driver standards: new brakes from master cylinder to all 4 corners.. and new exhaust, etc .... Not sure why EBAY decoder states it is a 3.8 V6. this is most definitely a factory original 5.0 HO Mustang GT. -everything works on the car: gauges, lights, blinkers, interior lights, dash lights, radio, the 'start up computer' display, power windows, radio. *******the only issue is the rear hatch release from inside does not work consistantly. all door, and hatch locks work with keys, etc. power door locks work from every switch.. as do the windows. the windows go up/down as they should. ac/ heat/ defrost, etc all work just fine. AC is still R 12.. and was recharged by the PO, just before i purchased it.. will freeze you out. As stated, the T- tops, do not leak.. and the seals are in VGC. a little noisy down the road... but if you have/ had a t-top car, you know what i mean. T tops have anti-theft locks, orignal keys, etc. rear defrost works. Interior is in fantastic condition. all original seats... dash is clean, instruments bright, rear cargo area clean. even has the t top bags and rear cargo retractable cover. non smoker car.. no smells. it is a very nice decent original example! The body is in fantastic shape for a 1985. no accidents, wears the orignal paint. mind you, this car was not in a museum, there may be some minor dings, thin paint, checking, etc (it is a mid 80's Ford !).. but nothing outstanding.... paint has some pantina, etc. i think you get the picture.. but if you are looking for a showroom new preserved car.. this is NOT for you. it is also NOT a restored car. this is a clean, honest, no- apologies example of an 85 GT. the ' worst' thing of the exterior, is the black GT decal on the hood is faded and cracked. I have a FORD NOS replacement that goes with the car. -Also, you can see in the pics the passengers side rear tail light is cracked.. will need replacement.. these are readily available. Car starts, runs, stops, drives right down the road fine. I would not hesitate to drive it across the country tomorrow. "If the car is so great... why are you selling it?' Good question.. i would want to know to. i purchased this car last summer.. kind of on a whim.. we were heading back from the beach.. i saw the add in the local car trader.. we swung by.. and my wife and daughter both loved it. the PO was the 2nd owner, a big mustang collector.. and being a teen in the 80's.. i always had an affinity for T Tops and 5.0's. Drove it, inspected it.. purchased it on the spot. I have several older fords.. and took it to my Ford resto mechanic (BCD Preservations in delaware.. best there is.. for anything!)... and had them get it "wife ready". drove the stang a lot last summer.. no problems overheating, starting hot, etc.. drives like a nice modern car should with semi vintage looks: ~however.. I have too many 'toys'.. and we got my daughter a new jeep.. if i were to keep the GT, i would want to restomod it.. and frankly, i dont have the $$$ and the need for another car that will sit in the garage..... Plus.. it's original... and not that i have an issue modifying a car (I figure if i own it.. i can do to it what i please).. but it's bone stock.. so id rather not hack it up.. so that's my story. you are welcome to come, take a look, drive it, inspect it, etc prior to auctions end... nothing to hide with this car... but again, it has not been in hermetically sealed vacum.... but it is probably one of the most original, rust free, 'survivor' 85 T Top GT's out there. the "RULES" : READ BEFORE BIDDING 1. the mustang is sold as is, where is, in it's present condition and location. all aspects of the sale are under the jurisdiction of Queen Anne's County, Maryland. 2. a non refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hrs of auctions close. remaing balance is due in cash at pickup (if within a week), or via wire transfer within 7 days. 3. buyer is responcible for transportation, costs, etc. yes.. you can drive it home, BWI (Baltimore- Washington airport is closest to me). I cannot deliver to airport, or pick you up, sorry.. time commitments make it impossible. I am about 45 min to an hour away.. there are taxi/ courrier services from the airport to where i live. 4. no trades. please have funds BEFORE bidding. I know the above sound negative.. and I am sorry about that.. if you check my feedback, i have been on Ebay over 11 years with 100% feedback... but a lot of folks have gotten a little odd lately. And it seems the less expensive the car, the more unrealistic expectations people have. I sold a $25k Edsel last year, and a $30k Thunderbird the year before, with no hassle and everyone was quite pleased. 4 years back.. tried to sell my son's Jeep CJ for 4k.. and nutjobs coming out of the woodwork. i don't need that. If you know the fox body mustangs, and are knowledgeable.. you will love it... if you are a dreamer, tire kicker, thinking you just found the Holy Grail.. do us both a favor and move on. This car, is a fun, safe, 'economical' (16/21 mpg) car to have and cheap to maintain. it also has to be one the most original, unmolested examples of a 4 eye GT with 5.0 HO out there.. and AC! drive as is, refurbish.. or restore, your choice!.. BUT, if buying a 'hobby car' at 5k is going to be a big life- challenging decision for you... do yourself a favor and find another hobby! please email me with any questions! thanks! On Apr-06-11 at 06:41:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi All. I have had several emails asking if the 27k mileage is correct, or can be verified, etc. (some almost a little nasty.. all ya gotta do is ask.. im not hiding anything!) anyway: As stated in the auction listing... I have all the paperwork, receipts, maintenance records since new. the carfax also lists the following: 4/03/85: sold new 12/17/1999: registration renew: 19, 950 k miles... (all receipts back this up) 1/16/2003 : title transfer: 22,050 miles... (again.. good reciept trail).. and this is the person i purchased from.. he has a mustang collection.. it was a toy for him.. not a daily driver) 4/19/2005: registration renew: 25199 June 2010: i purchased with just over 27000 miles on it. As stated, the car is just a low mileage original car... a third vehicle used as a 'fun' car. also.. if you look at the interior, drivers seat, steering wheel, gauge faces, and pedals.. you can tell it is a low mileage vehicle. and no, i dont think anyone 'refurbished' the interior to make it ' look low mileage' . Folks.. we are talking about a 1985 mustang for 5.2 grand. .... not a $ 100k shelby.. there is no conspiracy, or monkey buisness. if you are truly interested, come and take a look for yourself. or if you (Greg in Va) "just refuse to accept it"... why are you wasting your (and MY) time emailing and obsessing over it???? yeah.. you got me.. i took the dash apart, sent the gauges out to have them professionally redone, re- assembled the dash, had the seats redone in perfectly matching factory material.. sent the steering wheel out for refurbishment, and am now trying to pass the car off on some poor unsuspecting sucker for 5 grand. you got me! this will make a nice car for a 'car guy' if you know what you are looking at, and know what you want. thanks, and please email me if you have any questions (or any more entertaining conspiracy theories)
