1993 MERCEDES 600SEC. This vehicle was acquired from one of our customers who no longer had room or time for this car. This is a nice looking and running car that needs a buyer who is willing to devote some time and energy into it. We are going to describe the car in detail so that there are no surprises. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IT IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AND IS IN NEED OF SOME WORK. Exterior: The car has a great appearance, the body is straight, there is no major damage on the car. There are, however, some minor scratches from normal wear and tear. The trunk has some peeling clearcoat. There is a little rust underneath the driver's side tail light. Wheels and tires are average. Summary: overall the exterior of this car gives a nice and straight appearance and although is not perfect, is certainly a lot better than most of the other ones on the market Interior: Along the same lines as the exterior, it is not in show condition, however, it is definitely not abused and is cleaner than most on the market. The leather is in above average shape, along with the dash as well as the carpets. The two wood trim pieces at each end of the dash are off, however, we have them and they can be glued back on. All of the glass is in perfect condition. The odor is fine, smells like Mercedes leather and not smoke or dirt. The wood around the shifter has some cracking and some of the window and mirror switches are sunk in but still operate. Common in these cars, the seatbelt holders on both sides fell off. The odometer reads 69k miles and stopped working about a month ago according to the customer. Mechanical: We have owned many V12 Mercedes over the years. And as anyone who follows these cars knows, a good bunch of them run rough, shift hard, and give many headaches. This one however, is the smoothest running one that we have seen in a very long time. It idles like a new Lexus, you don't feel any vibrations. It purrs beautifully like a V12 should with no rattles, squeaks, or funny belt noises that are common to these cars. The transmission shifts perfectly normal. We are sure that the car could probably benefit from a regular oil servicing but there is nothing apparent that needs to be done. This car will need to be towed due to the fact that according to the customer the rear brake line needs to be done. Only the front brakes are working and because at any time the fluid could leak out from the rear, the risk of losing the front brakes as well is a good possibility, therefore we recommend that the vehicle be towed. As a result of the rear brake problem the brake, abs, and asr lights are on in the instrument cluster. If you are looking to own an nice 600, you have a great foundation to start here, a solid running V12 and a straight body. Though the car does need work, the major components appear to be functioning properly so this car is well worth someone's time. Please feel free to come and inspect the car at any time.
