Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a classic British 1974 Triumph TR6 convertible with factory overdrive which is a wonderful option to have for highway driving. I’ve owned this car for about a dozen years and it has always been my fair weather car driven in the spring, summer, and fall of upstate New York. Recent upgrades include new tires, convertible top, brake master cylinder, Petronix electronic ignition, and coil. There is currently a Monza Exhaust installed and the original muffler will be included. The car also includes a factory tonneau cover as noted in the pictures. All electronics on this car are in perfect working order which is remarkable for a thirty seven year old car. This car is partially restored and still needs further restoration such as the seats which could use new foam and seat covers as noted in the pictures. In 2004 this car placed 3rd place at the 24th Annual Hilton Applefest Auto show for sports cars. Please note that just prior to putting the car away for winter storage a slight bearing sound could be heard in the transmission for first, second, and third gear. Fourth gear is silent with no issue. The car is certainly drivable and shifts smoothly but believe the transmission should be rebuilt so as a result the reserve on this car is low. Be advised that you will have no issue finding rebuild kits or complete replacement units. Overdrive works well and can be switched on in third or fourth gear which gives the car six forward speeds. The car has passed New York State inspection in June of 2010. One of the pictures notes a scrape in the rear deck lid that unfortunately occurred while moving my snow blower into the garage ! This car has been a pleasure to own and has always received many compliments along the way. You will have no issue owning a classic like a Triumph TR6 since there are vendors that offer technical and parts support such as The Roadster Factory, Victoria British, and Moss to name a few.
