Vehicle Detail
1970 RS/SS ***Rally Sport Super Sport*** COMPLETE FRAME OFF RESTORATION ***CUSTOM**** I had several people wanting to look at the car this weekend and since the original auction was to end on Saturday I relisted for lookers to come this weekend. If you are genuinely interested I will UPS you a USB memory stick with all the before and after pictures. I have a electronic file I can send to you that lets you hear the engine running for over a minute, so if you want it just ask! This car is worth much more than I have for the opening bid. Go to the NADA Classic cars and you will find that this car bone stock with no modifications is worth $37,000, now add all the modifications I have done and you will come up with well over $45,000. The Black Widow has been my pride and joy for several years. I bought the car on 3/14/06 for $2500 and it was nothing but a shell with a lot of rust around it. I spent over $35,000 on every single piece of metal, bolt, screw, interior piece, wiring, etc. I have an excel spread sheet with the actual prices that I paid for every single part and the receipt to prove it, and that doesn’t cover the original price I paid or the 2 years in labor that was spent on this beauty. This is a completely new 1970 Camaro and has won EVERY single show I have been to including all surrounding county shows within 100 miles of my home. It was painted in February of 2008 with the deepest PPG Black paint and clear you can get. It took top honors (BEST paint) because of the paint at the 2008 Hunter’s Custom Automotive show in Nashville, TN out of 250 TOP CUSTOM vehicles at the entire show. (Tim McGraw stopped several times to look at it as you see he even posed with the car as well as George Jones) In 2009 it took The Cool Camaro Award from GOODGUYS Nashville Nationals June 26-28 2009 and was in the awards page in the October issue of the GOODGUYS gazette on page 97. I have put less than 1200 miles on the car since it was restored and it sat 7’ above the ground on it’s pedestal all of last year other than 3 trips out of the garage. The paint is still as deep as it was 3 years ago and turns heads everywhere it goes. The sound from the engine and gear drive attract attention before its even seen as the engine is putting out over 450 horse power and fun to change gears with the TREMEC TKO600 5 speed. The 12 bolt posi rearend with 4:10 gears are awesome to move this beauty through town and the great thing is when you are doing 70 MPH on the freeway you are turning about 2,000 RPM so you can get out and cruise without keeping the engine at that high RPM all the time. This car is an exceptional piece of work, but if you look hard enough you could find extremely small flaws. I have driven it so occasionally I have had to get out the touch up paint and cover a small rock nick here or there, so if you are wanting a 100 point vehicle don’t bid, but if you are going to drive it and want a 90+ point vehicle then you will be just fine. I had to use a lot of the original trim as most of the aftermarket trim is junk, so keep that in mind. If you are serious and want to come see and hear the car run you are welcome to, but it will not be leaving the garage if the ground is wet or there is even a remote chance of rain. This vehicle has never seen a car wash, rain, or even a garden hose. I only use 3M products on it and it has never even had a swirl mark. The earlier pictures on the grass are at the Alan Jackson car show in Franklin ,TN and don’t have the exhaust showing out the back. It is now ran completely out the back and even with the rear bumper so it looks factory. I added the picture because someone asked what it looked like, but it isnt great because it was with my cell phone, but you can see it stays covered and sits high on the rack so the underneath is as clean as the top side! I also added a picture of the trophies I have at my office. There are another 20+ trophies in my shop. This car takes Best of Show or top of class at EVERY EVENT it has been entered in. The last 2 pictures are what I started with and I have pictures of every single step that went into the transition from a rust bucket to a Show Winner! The very last picture is of the car at the GoodGuys National event as I drove in. (someone wanted to see the car with the hood down) Every piece of glass was replaced in the vehicle, along with every piece of sheet metal except the roof and front firewall which was slicked when the original AC unit was removed and the Classic Auto Air was installed. It has a Panasonic very nice CD/stereo system with 6x9 speakers in the rear deck with amp in the trunk. The breather on the engine is a low profile breather but still goes about 2” into the cowl in the hood so it is breathing fresh air all the time. I am starting the auction for less than I have in receipts. If you need additional pictures of anything else or actual photos where there wasnt anything but the rear frame and cockpit I will be glad to send you any you might want. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACK EMAIL ME BEFORE YOU BID.
