Up for auction is my vintage Hondamatic CM400A! This bike is considered an antigue and is eligible for Historic License Plates in almost every state! The Hondamatic 400 is one the the most proven automatic transmissions in the industry! It has a two speed foot shifter that allows you to go from low gear to high gear without the need of a clutch at all! You simply let off the gas and shift up to 2nd gear as you go faster..or...you can simply leave it in 2nd gear and take off without ever having to shift at all! The left handlebar lever is actually an emergency brake to keep the bike from rolling if parked on a downhill grade. It is among the easiest bikes to ride for a new rider and it makes those short little jaunts to the lake or grocery store that much easier since you dont have to shift gears to get there! This bike is extremely clean and not one of those "Project" bikes you run across once in a while. It starts up immediately and it runs perfectly all day long. It can easily cruise at 60 MPH or just putt along at 15 MPH while you enjoy the scenery. The horn is not working, but it is probably something simple, I just havent had the time to check it out. BTW....I have a windshield for this bike that I will throw in if I meet my reserve. Additionally, this model of the old Hondamatic is getting harder and harder to find. I have owned many of them including some 750's in the past. You will not find a nicer looking CM400A anywhere unless you are at a museum!
