Vehicle Detail
Anderson1951 store 1967 Ford Galaxie LTD 2 door coupe with a freshly rebuilt 390 big block and an automatic transmission. Magnificent red candy apple red paint just completed over a very sound, straight body. Paint prep revealed no exterior rust as this car had been reported to have been garage kept by the grandma I bought it from (true, she passed and the heirs sold it to me) it's entire life. I purchased this car within the last 2 years here on Ebay with the intention of making it my daily driver until I found the 70 Tbird sportroof I had been after for some time. Seller claimed that the mileage was original and I have seen no evidence to the contrary. 74,504 on the odometer and 63 J T ZD 12A 74 8 Y on the door tag, power steering and power brakes which I had replaced completely with new components. I installed an AM-FM radio and NOS antenna and a Holley 600cfm electric choke to replace the OE carburetor as well as a fresh battery for quick starts. Freshly tuned as well. Starts, runs and shifts fine. All the lighting works as it should. Suspension and steering seem fine. Exhaust is original but sound. Glass is all OK, very small chip in windshield almost impossible to photo. Sounds like a dream car, no? Well, it does still need some attention to put it in show condition, which I will describe. The front bench seat bottom has some staining and could be recovered with OEM fabric. Google SMS auto upholstery in Oregon to get the exact fabric. The door jambs could be detailed. The vinyl top shows its age and is available very reasonably here on Ebay. By the way, the license plates shown on the car do not come with the sale, I borowed them from another restored project for illustration purposes only. I would however consider including another uncommitted set of un restored California black plates if the reserve is met. I installed fresh NOS Ford accessory vinyl floor mats front and back. Carpet is mostly presentable but does show some wear on the drivers side. Sail panels show a different color than the rest of the intact headliner but SEM vinyl paint should do the trick. Tires are in decent shape but older models. You might want to change them for safety sake. Small ding in rear bumper, small split in the steering wheel, drivers door pull and dash around the speaker grille about rounds out the easily remedied defects I've come across. Any other defects are detailing related and could be rectified in an afternoon with some cleaners, thinner and a bit of elbow grease. I did not wax the paint which should probably be done. After that effort you will have a great ride which will turn heads. I have been shopping 67 Galaxies and LTD's on Ebay for 3 years and I would say that this model very rarely shows up, in this great original color combo, and never with the heavy lifting already accomplished. Now for the disclaimers and terms: the vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I will need a $2,000 deposit via paypal within 48 hours of the winning bid and the balance is due within 7 days via bank to bank wire transfer or cash in person. If you have little or negative feedback, please contact me before bidding or you risk having your bid cancelled. Storage and loading assistance is not a problem. I can keep it safely tucked away inside garage storage for a reasonable time to be mutually determined. I can provide info on local tow and transport providers. Local interested parties may make an appointment to see the car in person in Los Angeles, Ca. I do own and operate an auto body/mechanical repair facility. I also have several other 60's-70's era Fords in progress at the shop. Next ones to be completed and offered for sale shortly will be a 1967 Ford Fastback freshly built 390, Ford dark green metallic new, Edelbrock this and that, Weld racing wheels, dual Flowmasters and a 1967 Galaxie Convertible in stunning 3 stage white pearl, interior color and trim still to be determined. Contact me if you have any questions or need detailed photos of any of these classics. Thanks for taking the time to read this so carefully and good luck bidding!
