Vehicle Detail
This auction is for our family van that we bought new from our local dealership and used to ferry the kids around town and for road trips. Now, one daughter is in college and the other two drive....so we have no use for our van anymore and it just sits on the insurance as a third 'limited use' vehicle. We have only put a little over 87 thousand miles on this van since new and it easily has another 70 thousand to go. It has been female owned and driven by me it's entire life and the last 3 years only as a 'vacation vehicle' when we went away. The pictures show a good representation and we only took it through the car wash for the pictures, so it would look much better waxed or detailed. It does have the typical minor blemishes if you walk around it and does have some paint peeling on the roof (see picture) which you don't see unless you climb up on top. The interior is in my opinion above average...especially for a mini van and as the pictures show, there aren't any glaring defects. The one minor problem is that the passenger front door does not unlock with the remote and the button needs to be manualy lifted. This is a result of the impatient kids lifting the outside handle while I was unlocking it with the remote. The only major problem we had is with the transmission which went bad and we had a BRAND NEW Ford factory unit put in about 26,000 miles ago. It still works fine but once in a while it will do a small 'shudder', so we brought it to a reputable transmission shop and they told us that the 'clutch springs' will need to be replaced in about 20,000 miles and it is fine now. At that time, we had them do a COMPLETE transmission tune up for several hundred dollars. Overall, the van is pretty nice and has a remote car starter which is great in the winter time. We would love to show you the van and take you for a test drive and would highly recommend you come see it in person before you bid. The insurance renewal is up on the first of April, and we will not be keeping it on as it is too expensive to have so many cars, so you will need your own plates/insurance to drive it home. Although our family has outgrown this, it will provide many years of reliable service for another family. and although we are sure the high bidder will be pleased, we are offering this 'as is'. Thank youOn Mar-31-11 at 09:52:22 PDT, seller added the following information:I have had a few questions about the heat and a/c. We drove the van today and heat works great but a/c was not too cold, but blowing strong. Hope this helps!
