Rare Find - 1972 Heavy Chevy - Chevrolet Chevelle Chevrolet made only 9,508 of these cars in 1972. This vehicle was built in Arlington, Texas and sold new in Sweetwater, Texas. I purchased it from an individual in Big Spring, Texas, where it had been since 1981. It has very little rust. There is a small spot under the gas peddle on the driver's side floor pan which is rusted through. The rest of the passenger compartment floor pan is rust free. The trunk pan has some rust through, but not extensive. I could not find any rust through on the doors. I do not have the hood. This is not the original engine. According to the VIN, it came with a 350 4 barrel carb L48. T350 trans and a 12 bolt rear differencial. The T350 trans and 12 bolt differencial are still in the car. This is a factory air front disc brake car. You can see by the pics that the door panels (front and rear) are in good shape. All of the glass is good with no chips or cracks. The original seats are still with the car but need re-upholstering. The Heavy Chevy option added the following items to a base model Chevelle, which you will see included in the photos; Blacked out grill and headlight bezels Special body stripes running the length of the car and decals displaying “Heavy Chevy” placed on the hood, trunk lid and fenders Special interior door panels wood grain stripes The idea behind the Heavy Chevy option was to provide the buyer with a budget minded alternative to the Super Sport model. The base model Chevelle could be ordered with a "Heavy Chevy" package as well as some other equipment found on Super Sports. I do not have the title, but will provide a bill of sale.
