Vehicle Detail

Okay, here we go, the story of Marcel, that elegant and courteous gentleman of a truck I bought here on Ebay four years ago, the story of a love, you have no idea. Some stats: New 350 Chevy 8 cylinder engine (3000 miles)(# 10067353-1LS9). New intake, exhaust, water pump and fuel pump gaskets. Edelbrock intake with 4bbl carb. 3 speed Saginaw transmission, Hurst Indy shifter. New hydraulic clutch and master cylinder mounted on fire wall. New custom aluminum drive shaft. New dual exhaust with Dynaflow mufflers. Front clip is original with newer style shocks. Clear title. New front brake cylinders. Originally from California, with paint worn and minimally chipped, as I have chosen not to re-paint it so that I can use it whenever I want without worrying about scratching a "museum piece". All steel body in great shape. Lots of new stuff I have all invoices. New 12 volt chrome ah-hoo-gah horn. Custom rims and tires. Even though I really wanted to keep this truck as simple and as true as possible, I had an AC and Heating system installed.(Street Rod Cooler II Electric, with Billet controls. Kept the AC controls hidden in the glove box, as as well as an ambient temperature gauge and a hardwired pigtail connector for a Garmin unit. Custom glove box light. New glove box lock with key, vintage window handles, door handles, including one that locks on the outside. New cowl vent gasket. Vintage chrome crank hole cover. Original low/high beam foot switch. New speedometer cable. New 12 volts instrument cluster from Jim Carter Classic Trucks . All gauges in tip top shape. New ignition and tumbler and key. New high-performance starter. New gas sending unit. Locking chrome bowtie gas cap. Rare chrome hood hinge. New brake shoes, cylinders and rotors. Revamped emergency brake (Not the original and still a bit stiff, but it works) Note: I sometimes hit the 7-Eleven for morning coffee, and had no place to set my cup. No cup holders in 1940 trucks. So I designed my own, in brass. (See photograph). Works like a charm. Tucks away when not in use. This truck will make someone very happy. I wanted a daily driver that would earn its keep. You can haul a bail of straw in the field or take your girlfriend to the opera house if you are so inclined and still arrive in style. Please feel free to contact me (FF4575@aol.com) with any questions as I am sure I am forgetting some facts. Note: The photographs were taken in '08, '09 and '10. I cherish this truck and I use it in a thoughtful way, but just like on all of us, there are a few scratches and wrinkles. For a 71 year old guy, he is doing remarkably well. Thank you.
