1972 Suzuki GT380

I bought this bike non-running about a year ago with the intention of doing a complete frame-up restoration but once I got it back together and running have since moved on to other projects. I believe the bike to have been last on the road sometime in the mid 80's. It appears it was parked due to a holed center piston caused by incorrect ignition timing. The gauges currently on the bike are correct but NOT original. The previous owner had the original gauges off the bike in an attempt to fix broken glass. Those gauges (that I’ll include with the bike – state 6800 miles). Given the overall condition I would say that is a fair estimate of the actual miles but obviously this can’t be stated with absolute certainty. To get the bike to its current condition: - Installed new battery - Installed correct/functioning instrument cluster - Cleaned all carburetors - Installed new spark plugs and points - Replaced the center piston, wrist pin, roller bearing and circlip - Replaced the piston rings in all (3) cylinders - Adjusted ignition timing properly and replaced the transmission and 2-stroke oil - Installed new head and base gaskets (remainder of entire engine gasket kit will be included) - Installed new tachometer and speedometer cables The inside of the gas tank is clean but I did flush it out and installed inline fuel filters and new fuel line to the carbs. The tank has no dents but does have some scratches on the top surface. EVERYTHING on the bike works (lights, horn, turn signals, brake lights, instruments and instrument lights/indicators). This would be an excellent candidate for a complete restoration or with a little more work a very presentable rider. It will need at least new tires, chain/sprockets. The chrome is in decent shape as well as the rims/spokes and exhaust. The exhaust baffles are in place and there is no rust through on the entire exhaust system. At some point in the life of the bike the original airbox was replaced with a later style and the original side covers were cut to be able to fit the later airbox as can be seen in the pictures. However, included with the bike is a complete correct airbox assembly (with new air cleaner) and correct side covers (not cracked or broken but in incorrect color). The handlebars currently on the bike are also NOT correct but included with the bike are a pair of nice correct bars and an additional slightly higher set as well. The only items missing from making the bike totally complete and correct are the mirrors and rear footpegs.
