Up for sale is a VERY RARE 1979 10th anniversary SLIVER BIRD TRANS AM. This is a 4-speed car, one of only1800 4 speed Trans Am’s cars made in 79 with the Pontiac 400 motor. The VIN IS 2X87Z9N169098 THIS IS NOT the OLDSMOBLE engine 403 T/A made with the automatic transmission. This was the last year Pontiac made the Trans Am with a Pontiac 400 block engine. In 1980 Pontiac switched to a smaller engine 301-turbocharged motor for better gas mileage and performance. This car is being sold for PARTS ONLY NO TITLE. The car was left at my shop for a restoration. The owner took the car all apart after blowing the engine and then left it with me to do the work. He through he would save some money by doing this but he wouldn’t. The owner then abandons the car several years later. The 400 motor is long gone but some engine parts are still with the car. (NO ENGINE) The car is ruff but very solid and straight. It still has the numbers matching original 4-speed transmission, bell housing and the disc brake rear end with posi traction and 373 gears. The car has some small rust in the rear quarters in front of the wheel wells seen in the pictures and some small rust in the rear window channel. It also would need a new rear valance that goes behind the rear window in front of the trunk lid. Trunk lid hinge is also rusted off on the left side. Floors are great and trunk is good but is starting to rust, up under the rear bumper and pan. This car has all the body parts, front and rear bumper covers, all spoilers, good doors with electric windows and locks. Great rust free front fenders, nice rear quarters (one dent) and good frame rails, sub frame, and radiator support. The car also comes with 2 hoods. More parts are also inside the car and in the trunk. This car has power windows, doors locks, brakes, power trunk, and silver mirror t-tops. T/A”s like this one are going for over $40.000 restored. Again this car has no title and it will be up to you to get one. It can be done. BILL OF SALE ONLY. Some picture are of what the car should look like restored.
