Vehicle Detail

My cell number is 828-719-6060 if you have any questions... Thanks for looking... NOTE: Please visit my blog for additional pictures and videos of the Suburban, I have included very few on here since I already posted them on the blog: www.theschollbus.com NEW VIDEOS WERE POSTED TO THE ABOVE BLOG ON WEDNESDAY, March 16th..... The new videos show how to start the truck after running out of fuel (or changing filters) and a few better views of the truck during daylight hours. I have completed many custom WVO installations, all designed by me specific to the vehicle and the needs of the owner (most of them were for myself). The first conversion I completed was for my 1984 Toyota Corolla with a 1.8L Factory non-turbo diesel. I can help you with your installation, design a complete kit for you, source parts, or assist you with installing a kit you purchase from another supplier. I currently own 4 Mercedes diesels, 1977 300D I am repairing for re-sale, 1983 300D for parts, 1983 300SD is my daily driver, 1984 300TD Wagon is my wife's daily driver. I also own a 1991 40' school bus "The Scholl Bus" with an 8.2L Detroit non-turbo (gonna convert to turbo soon) that we are converting into an RV for our family, and a 1993 VW Jetta TDI that I will be parting out. Feel free to call or email me with questions... jodyscholl@gmail.com 828-719-6060 (cell number, texting is okay too) 1984 Chevrolet C10 (2WD 1/2 ton) Suburban with Detroit 6.2L Diesel engine. automatic transmission, and custom WVO (Waste Veggie Oil) conversion. I also run used motor oil, and transmission fluid mixed with the veggie oil. Here is a link to one of my videos of the Burb, there are more on my blog listed above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uT6stm4Hos NOTE: I am willing to drive this to you no matter where you live, I will only ask you pay for fuel and the uhaul trailer I can tow my return car on. It currently has a little less than 170,000 miles on it, I am not going to give an exact mileage since I will be driving it daily until it sells. The mileage issue noted in the vehicle history report was due to a typo in 1997 when the truck was re-registered. They typed in 187,489 instead of 107,489, simple mistake I guess. Here are the repairs/upgrades I have added to the truck since I purchased it January 2009 in order of repair: ---Replaced head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, thermostat right after purchase, they had not failed but were showing signs and I didn't want to ruin the heads. ---8 New Glow Plugs, added manual glow plug button to control glow time ---New General Grabber Tires were purchased spring of 2009 (love these tires) ---Installed WVO kit Summer of 2009 ---re-wired trailer lights ---Replaced Brake Master Cylinder Fall of 2009 ---NEW ALUMINUM RADIATOR Spring 2010 ---2 NEW Batteries Spring 2010 ---In a fender bender summer 2010, damaged 1 tire, replaced 2 tires to keep tread wear even... ---Replaced steering gear box and Pitman Arm due to fender bender ---Could not find new steering center link so repaired the bent one, steering wheel a little off center now but wheel alignment is okay for tire wear and control. ---Repaired engine oil cooling line, had a hole rubbed in a steel fitting I designed and installed the WVO kit myself. It includes the following components: ---50 gallon WVO tank that is heated by the engine coolant ---2 fuel switching valves to switch the supply and return lines between the 2 tanks ---Baldwin/Dahl 100 filter housing with extra filters, can be heated by 12v power supply and has water indicator built in ( I did not hook up the 2 extra options) ---Fuel Level Sender in the tank ---Holly racing fuel pump to help push fuel to the mechanical pump on the engine ---3 Gauges mounted on dash... Fuel Level, Temperature (shows fuel temp), Vacuum (tells you when to change the filter) As long as you know how, the Burb as we call it, starts very well with no issues. It is cold natured so you have to know how to operate the glow plugs, I consider that an anti-theft feature :-). It does have a block heater but you don't really need it unless it is below 20 degrees for an extended period (this past winter we had several days of below zero temps and the burb started like a champ with the block heater). Wipers, lights, radio, etc all function. The factory fuel gauge does not work correctly, but if you know how to use it it will tell you before you are empty. The steering wheel does not align with center, it is off due to the center link repair but does not affect driving ability. Fuel mileage ranges between 15 and 20 MPG if you are only using pump diesel depending on driving conditions. I have driven from Newland, NC, to our old stomping ground in central KY on free WVO several times, so not sure how to calculate that. The WVO system operates very well, the truck runs good on alternative fuel, you just have to know when to switch it. I would be happy to go over all switching instructions in detail with the buyer. We love the Burb and hate to sell it but I am getting too many vehicles and something has to go. It is not turbocharged so don't expect to set any towing or speed records, but it will get you where you need to go and can do it very cheaply if you know how. I have 5 Diesel vehicles, including the Burb, I have to downsize our fleet or my wife is going to kill me. I can remove the WVO kit if you just want the truck. I would pack my family in this and drive anywhere without any hesitation. The body has some rust on the doors and the dented up front fender but the frame is in excellent shape. The interior rear fenders in the cargo area are starting to rust in the seams, but I have been keeping them caulked to prevent water from coming inside the cargo area. If you would like me to move the fuel pump under the truck (to the frame rail) I would be happy to do that before you pick it up. I like being able to listen to it myself, it tells me a lot about how the truck is running and if I switched the fuel when it was too cold. BUYER NOTE: You are more than welcome to come pick it up, I can meet you half way, or drive it all the way to you. Please make arrangements prior to the end of the auction. NOTE: Please visit my blog for additional pictures and videos of the Suburban, I have included very few on here since I already posted them on the blog: www.theschollbus.com The first picture is the Burb towing a '67 Mustang, the 2nd is me adding filtered used motor oil to the veggie tank. Any offers or possible trades may be considered.... Email with any questions, if you would like to see the truck in person or talk about it over the phone, again my number is 828-719-6060
