My 1970 Lotus Europa S2, serial number 7012280716R is for sale. The entire history of this car is documented (Including an article in 1987 in Remarque) on the lotus-europa.com web site. Look under the serial number and you will find links to the restoration performed by Jerry Johnson as well as the history of ownership. This car comes with the desirable Hermes conversion kit. Pictures of the Hermes intake and 45DCOE Weber carberurator are provided. Additionally, this car has GB alloy wheels. It is presently registered and on the road, although few miles have been put on it since my ownership. In the past six months (my ownership period) the following work has been performed. There is a new battery, the gas tank was removed and purged of the old gas from sitting for too long. The fuel lines were cleaned as well as the carberator with multiple flushing of each, performed by a professional (receipts provided with the car). All the fluids were changed. The wheels were spin balanced and the car was aligned to the specifications in the workshop manual. A new mechanical fuel pump was installed and the proper spacers were added to ensure that it lasts. Often these spacers are not installed, to the detriment of the fuel pump. The parts and directions provided by Banks Engineering, a noted Lotus Europa parts source. Along with the car, I am providing substantial additional parts. Given my right wrist is held together by 4 plates, 6 pins and a bone graft, it has become impossible for me to work on the car and these parts comprise some projects that I believe are important. This is also my reason for selling. Much of the joy of a Europa is working on the car and knowing it is yours. I lack that ability anymore and am letting this amazing low mileage Europa pass to the next person to love. As shown in the pictures, there is a stainless steel hinge kit provided. The doors on the 0716R do not sag appreciably, but I know this is an upgrade that will make a difference in the long run. There are four additional wheels in the original size that came with the car, i.e. 15580R13. The GBs on the car have 18560R13 wide profile Yokahoma tires. As can also be seen, I am including a set of four original Lotus hubcaps. The car cover shown in the pictures will be included. I also have an extra valve cover in case you want to chrome it. A complete clutch assembly is also included. 0716R has no clutch issues, but it was passed to me and I am providing it to the new owner. For documentation, there is the Factory workshop manual as well as copies of the owners manual and a Weber 45DCOE manual. As can be seen in my picture there is a full scale wiring diagram on 30" x 36" plastic sheet. I will also provide all the historical documents I have for 0716R. As can be seen in the pictures, the heater is not connected presently. 0716R was set up for autocrossing before Jerry did his restoration and it was never reconnected. I have the parts. Additionally, the radio shown in the pictures is not connected, but I wanted to demonstrate that I had it. It needs reconnected. I cannot verify if the speakers work as I did not get to the sound system as I was more interested in getting 0716R back on the road. The lights and window and gauges are all functional. Now for the shortcomings. As stated, the radio and heater are not installed. The paint looks great from 10 feet, but there is a chip on the deck lid, minor cracking around the locks and some crazing on the roof over the drivers side. I am missing one lug nut. The interior has a few blemishes and the drivers side 5 point harness will need replaced if you decide to autocross the car. It works fine as an over the shoulder belt. The doors could fit a bit better, but when you install the stainless steel hinge kit, that issue should go away. The only other damage is a small crack in the right rear corner where the deck lid closes. This Europa is an amaizing driver that can either be enjoyed as it is, autocrossed or restored. Given the extremely low mileage, this would make a teriffic additional to any serious collection. This is a used car, thus no warrantee is either expressed or implied.
