Vehicle Detail

1963 P O R S C H E 356 B COUPE Coach builder: Karmann Type: T6 B VIN: 214398 (2nd from last Karmann body in 1963) Engine Nr.: 0600582 (2nd from last 616/1 T6 engines last one made in 7/63) Therefore, safe to assume: MATCHING NUMBERS CAR. I do not have the transmission nrs. but trust me this car has not been apart. Original Color: OSLO BLUE #6203 Mileage: less than 30,000 !!!!! (really) If you absolutely DO NOT LIKE RUST PLEASE DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER. Now some details on the car. It is a "car port find". It was not stored in a closed in garage when found. It is mostly complete as far as I can see. Engine: Some sheet metal has been removed form the engine and the rockers are of one side of the engine. All parts are with the car. The carbs are also included. I did not see the original aircleaner. The engine will not turn over and I did not push the issue. I recommend a full tear down and probably new pistons/cylinders. I would think that the crank would be in great shape given the mileage. Then there is a lot of detailing and cosmetics to do. Body: She is in a very sorry state. There will be extensive body work needed. There is a lot of severe rust. You will need to repair or replace doors, trunk lid, engine lid, nose clip, fender sections, floors, longitudinals, and so on... You will need to have the skills and stamina to undertake this project. The front bumper is missing. Rear bumper is weak. The underside of the car is rusty. This car has no sunroof. The car is painted white. I can see the original OSLO blue in some areas. Interior: Well everything is still in place. I do not think the Panasonic radio would be original. The carpet looks like it came out of whorehouse. I think it is left over from the Custom Van era in the 70s! Other: No tools or jack came with the car...sorry! H1 Headlight covers in the pictures went to my 911. I have 3 hubcaps that go with the car. Rims are rusty. I can get paperwork for the car if needed. I have some old registration and insurance papers. The car will come with a Bill of Sale. I have no Owner's Manuals or other books for the car. Is this car restorable? OBSOLUTELY. Is it worth restoring? That is up to the buyer. Would it make sense to restore this car? Yes, in my opinion (I am a Classic Car afficionado and own several early Porsches). Why aren't I keeping the car? I have too many cars and ongoing projects and no place to store this one. Hey, how many 356s can boats <30K original miles after all? Again, please only buy this car if you are absolutely bonkers about restoring a Porsche 356! If I were to fix it up I would make an outlaw with fiberglass door, trunklid, etc. Run a killer engine in it and have a blast! Have fun! I can assist with transport to NY for overseas shipping. Figure about $400.00 for trailer rental, time, tolls, and gas. Payment: I will need a $250.00 deposit by PayPal within 24 hrs. Balance to be paid in 7 days by money order, bank to bank transfer, or cash. I will not accept Nigerian Prince offers for more money. Please shop for another car. I will not deal with any "agents" for clients. Car must be picked up with 7 days of auction ending for domestic buyers, or a $20.00/ day storage will apply (that is what the shop will charge me!). On Mar-14-11 at 04:01:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Some typographical error corrections: "boats: should read boast fiberglass "door" should read doors (you will need to repair/ replace both). Car must be picked up "with 7 days" should read "within". Mileage I was told it the real mileage. I do not doubt the previous owner as his story checked out very well. I gues it will all come to light when the engine gets torn down. The color of this font was chosen to reflect the original OSLO BLUE color of the car.
