Up for auction is an all original 1978 International Scout II, V8, 304, automatic transmission, with 4 wheel drive. This vehicle has been stored inside for more than 20 years and is a great candidate for restoration, or use as-is with just a little work. We have had it for about 7 years, and it has a clear PA title. Vehicle runs and drives, but will need some tuning and brake work. Engine runs rough--needs a fresh tune up, probably carb. rebuild, and fresh gas. It may still have some old fuel in the line--I added new fuel recently. Interior is in excellent shape for age (seats, headliner and carpeting). Center console top is cracked and some wear/cracking on edge of driver's seat is visible. Carpet, door panels and rear panels are nice and will look great with just a cleaning. The body has rust through at wheel openings, rocker panels, driver's side rear end cap, doors, fenders, near windshield frame and a small spot under rear liftgate window on right side (under gray tape in photo). Driver's side quarter panel and driver's rocker panel need replacing. Edge of floor on driver's side will need repair near rocker. Passenger side quarter panel needs repair or replacement and passenger side outside rocker panel needs replacement. From what I can see, inner rocker and floor are OK on passenger side. Frame and undercarriage looks excellent. Truck will need cab mount repairs at 3 of middle 4 mounts. Floor above cab mounts (located near door hinges) will need repair. Exhaust system needs replacement. Parking brake cable is broken to rear axle. Tailgate looks to be in excellent shape. Roof has many spots of surface rust, but still looks good and solid. Driver's side door hinges are worn and door sags. Dash pad is cracked. Passenger side-view mirror is missing glass. Driver's side headlight is missing headlight bucket, but I have one that can go with Scout. Wheels shown in photos ARE NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION. Other wheels and tires will come with Scout that will be good enough to move vehicle. A standard wheel (no tire) will be included as spare. The spare cover is in good shape, with various marks from age that may clean up. The floor mat in rear of bed has holes exposing insulation. Rubber gasket is loose around tailgate. Tailgate strap on passenger side is not connected at gate (missing bolt). Latch on liftgate turns, but does not latch closed. Although this Scout has some issues, it is mostly all original, unmolested, never abused, straight, complete, and better than most Scouts in this area. It looks like it never had prior body work (other than the few riveted patches). I think this would be a perfect vehicle for original restoration. Scout can be seen at my location--contact me to arrange an appointment. Scout is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. Buyer will need to trailer from my location, as Scout is not currently inspected. Down payment of $250.00 due within 48 hours of end of auction, with balance due before vehicle leaves my property. Vehicle must be picked up within 2 weeks from end of auction, unless other specific arrangements have been made with seller.
