1972 Mercedes Benz 280SE 4.5 Sedan. This luxury, sports sedan was bought new locally and spent its whole life in Sacramento, California. It is a super dry car with ZERO rust anywhere. 100% Original Paint car too. Never been hit anywhere. One ding/dent in top of passenger front fender. Paint still shines well (see photos). Rubber and seals on car are all nice not dried and cracked, same with light lenses. Chrome is original and as good as you will find, still bright with no pitting. I took many close up photos and will ad a link to more. The car has had excellent maintenance and has 98250 original miles. The original service book is stamped all thru with correct oil changes (castrol) and all service on time. Most everything works as it should. The engine fires instantly, idles smooth, no smoke and runs out super strong. The trans has just had a fluid and filter change. It had a light flare between second and third, this resloved most of that but I do still notice it a bit (I called the MB tech I use and it can be adjusted out, which I plan to do this week and will update). This said the car still drives very nice, and trans is strong. No hesitation when it goes into reverse (a sign to those who know MB cars). The four wheel disc brakes work perfect with no pull, just nice firm stops. All light and electrical are working, including fog lights, gauges etc... This is a sunroof car! Thats the good news, bad news is when you hit the switch you just hear a clicking noise. I would suggest new tires sometime soon, mainly from age. It has newer correct Bonsal Exhaust that sounds great when you stick your foot in it. AC is all intact and has worked in the recent past but it is winter time and I cant tell if it is still blowing cold, heater works. Interior is still very nice and serviceable as is. Dash does have cracks (seen in photos) and one head rest need the metal slide replaced (but upholstery is good and matching).
