I am selling my 1997 C3500 HD Dump truck. The truck lifts/ dumps great. Has a central hydraulics setup. Motor is a 6.5 Turbo Diesel with 57000 miles. Truck has like brand new rear tires. One rear tire does have long scrape on the sidewall but holds air just fine and doesnt leak. The truck has a dual pto setup. Ptos work but 1 could use some lubrication to get the pto pull control to operate smoothly as this pto hasnt been used for awhile. Truck does also have a hydraulic salt spreader control mounted inside the cab. Truck is a standard also. The Bad: The truck needs new tie rods, maybe a couple other minor steering components as the steering has alot of slop in it. The truck runs good but for some reason it does not want to start in the cold but it will start off of ether. Im not sure if this is a glow plug problem. Once its warmed up it starts up just fine. I know what your saying ether on a diesel! I have only used ether on the truck a couple of times and it hasnt been alot. The truck also has a broken brake line. The truck also has a shifting problem in 3rd gear. It goes through all the other gears just fine and the clutch feels good. When you upshift into 3rd gears it grinds just a little bit but goes into 3rd fine. When you downshift into 3rd it grinds more so I always just skipped downshifting into 3rd. My guess is that a synchronizer is going out. The truck bed floor does have a few quarter size holes but other than that the floor is fine. The bed sides do have a few repair patches. This would be a great dump truck for someone with a little bit of work. Truck would need to be trailered due to the steering and brake line problem. It looks like there is a pin hole that was not fixed and is leaking a little bit of oil. And I dont think the fuel gauge is accurate.On Mar-09-11 at 16:56:15 PST, seller added the following information: The truck is 2 wheel drive. The truck does have rust on it. If you are looking for a show truck this truck is not for you. Some rust on bed is all the way through. Rocker panels are rusted also. Sorry I forgot to add this in the original description.
