CONDITION: Vehicle has been used for the last 4 years by a touring band, and before that it was owned by a father of 7 children. Before that it was used as an airport shuttle bus. That would make me it's third owner, so it hasn't been through many hands. The last owner saved any repair receipts he had and I still have them. Current condition is pretty good. In the summer of '09 we had a new fuel pump installed and in September of this year we had the transmission replaced with a much newer (though used) transmission. Current transmission has a little over 100,000 miles on it, versus the old transmission that had over 500,000 miles on it. This is a 7.3L Turbo Diesel work machine. We have driven it coast to coast many times and through the Rockies several times, towing trailers and several people and the engine has never failed us. We have had no accidents. The only repairs that were significant were the fuel pump, replaced transmission this year, and that's it. On top of that, the van has not been driven much in the past year. We've regularly kept up on oil changes and standard maintenance (tire replacement, fluids, etc.) and as a result this engine has never failed us. I wouldn't be surprised if this van made it to a million miles in the right hands. PROS: This is a 7.3L Turbo Diesel. 12-15pmg without a trailer attached. NEVER have had an engine problem. Cruise control works fine. Greasecar option is already installed! This usually costs at least $500 and about as much more to install. THIS VAN CAN RUN ON VEGETABLE OIL!!! The lines for the Greasecar system just need to be re-attached (unattached due to fuel pump replacement). There is a 15-gal tank in the back for the veggie oil. Van actually runs smoother and is quieter when running on veggie oil. Air conditioning and heat all work fine. Comes with a brand new CD/Aux-in/USB music player. You can plug in your laptop/phone and play CDs with this CD player. Also comes with SIRIUS satellite radio installed. All you have to do is buy an account with them and have them activate it. Installed and ready to go. CONS: There is some rust around the wheel wells. The right side mirror needs to be replaced. The power windows are a little slow in the winter- could be an easy electrical fix. A window-side seatbelt is missing from the front bench. This is a 1998 diesel van, so you need to plug in the front of the van in the winter to keep the diesel from gelling. As long as you plug the van in when it gets cold, no problems starting it. The Greasecar system needs to be re-attached if you want to use it. It had to be disconnected due to the installation of a new fuel pump, but it is all in and installed, just needs to be hooked up again. In other words, it's still in the van, just needs to be re-attached. We have the Greasecar installation pamphlet for your mechanic if you'd like to re-attach it. The veggie oil tank sits in the back of the van behind the last bench seat. 516,000 miles are on this van. That's a lot of miles, but this is a diesel engine. Can't say it enough: never have had an engine problem. I would have driven this van to a million miles if our band hadn't broken up. FEATURES: Greasecar system installed and ready to be re-attached. He used the van to take his kids to school and home and to summer camp. Before that it was used as an airport shuttle van in Kansas City. The previous owner kept all of his vehicle repair records and I still have them. No accidents that I know of. As far as our history, we have never had an accident.
