Vehicle Detail
The real deal..... This is a very straight "real deal steel " 1935 Chevy Coupe. I was bidding on a couple other cars and didn't win the bid, then ended up buying this one. On the way to pick this one up, the owner of one of the other cars I was bidding on called me and offered me a deal on the one I was originally trying to buy... So here's the deal.. I wanted a Gasser coupe. When I could not seem to buy the one I wanted, I bought this one which is a Street Rod. The entire underneath of this car is all new..and high quality. Remember, you can have a reproduction plastic kit car coupe if you want. You can be like everyone else and build a plastic Willys coupe, which I must say is a real cool car, but to have a real steel bodied 1935 Master Chevy Coupe with Suicide doors is to own a rare, rare car that will set you apart from other people. This car has a Chassis Engineering back half of frame and running gear, with Moser 12 bolt, 33 spline axles and shocks, 4:56 gears, Wilwood Disk Brakes...It is tubbed with brand new weld wheels and Hoosier rear Tires. Just the material cost of the back half of this drive train was over $6,000. The front end is all new Mustang 2 rack and pinion, w/front disc brakes. The engine is a fresh (new not rebuilt) 355 small block with aluminum Edelbrock heads. The transmission is a turbo 400 built to go. The engine is estimated at 435 h.p. Now the other stuff...This car has a super straight body with an Amateur Paint job than can probably be saved by a professional, but for right now, it is a 10 mph and 10 foot paint job. This car came from the south. In Illinois we do not get to see straight and sound bodies like this one on steel bodied coupes. The interior has 2 bucket seats and is partially finished and will need finishing. The car is drivable as is with working headlights etc... The car needs finishing, but you can either drive it the way it is or enjoy it while you are doing all the final finishing work. The drive train has an estimated 150 miles for test drives only ...that is how new it is. It has not been raced or licensed for the street since it was built. The man I bought it from had committed a great deal of his life to building this rare and quality car. As I said before, I wanted a Gasser and was going to convert this. I find it hard to rip out a new mustang 2 front end and do all the conversions to a car that is still new since a frame off build. And...the Gasser I wanted ....has magically become available to me so this must go. I have around $19,500 in this car and it will be sold to the first serious buyer with $17,500. It is for sale locally, so if you want it, call me and let's do business. Chuck 815 440 8887. I can't be more honest than that. No..I don't want any trades. The only things that I would trade for are a beautiful woman who is near sighted with no voice box and who can pass the elbow test, or a very nice Gasser coupe from the 30's...(I would prefer the Gasser Coupe. I can understand that machine.....) But Nothing else.. I originally was not going to sell it for less than the $17,500 but I have rethought my stance...I will entertain serious offers if the car does not sell for the $17,500...if you are serious call me. I am going to sell this car... I just lowered the reserve...pay attention. This car will be sold... One other thing.. I was too critical of this paint job, it can be made nice with more color sanding and sealing.. It is much better than a 10' - 10mph job, but it is not show quality yet....Also remember although you can cruise this car right now, it does need some things finished on it and is being sold as a project because it needs the interior completed, the passengers electric window assembly installed(all other glass is installed) and the usual minor things associated with finishing the end of a street rod build...you can cruise it to the drive in or cruise night right now, but there are many small issues that will need attention... I cannot be more honest than I am being about this car. If you have any questions at all, call me 815 440 8887 Chuck. Thanks for looking. Wednesday insert... Guys I have received an incredible amount of letters and email on this car -I didn't realize ebay wasn't posting the mail traffic...so I wills tart manuallypostingthem today as they come. Just understand there has been pages of communication that does not show here. If you are serious, you should probably do something. This car will be sold. Remember this is an extremely rare car...you won't see others in this year and body style. Dave, this is an extremely rare car. This 35 suicide door coupe is a Master series which I believe a 35 master has the aerodynamic body of a 36 standard except it has the super rare and desirable suicide doors. You will not have another one of these showing up at the car show and parking next to you.... It is all steel, straight, and unique..let alone the running gear is all new...The buy it now price is far less than the cost of the parts in it..It is a great value for someone, it is just that I have committed to buy a gasser and and I am trying to stay focused. Chuck Dear wokr-hotrod, HI; THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE. I AM A BIG FAN OF HUGGER ORANGE. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION. [AND PLEASE EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE] I AM BY NO MEANS AN EXPERT ON "35" CHEVIES. BUT IS THE BODY ON THIS CAR ALL ORIGINAL TO "35"? THE REASON I ASK IS BECAUSE I CAN NOT FIND ANOTHER "35"CHEVY THAT LOOKS QUITE LIKE THIS ONE ON EBAY. I FOUND A "38" CHEVY AND FROM THE SIDE AND THE BACK IT ACTUALLY LOOKS MORE LIKE THAT CAR, THAN ANY OTHER "35" THAT I HAVE SEEN. IS THIS SOME KIND OF A SPECIAL MODEL "35" OR IS IT POSSIBLE THERE ARE OTHER YEAR PARTS ON THIS CAR? DOES IT HAVE A TITLE SAYING IT IS A "35"? DON`T GET ME WRONG I THINK THE CAR IS BEAUTIFUL. AND I WOULDN`T REALLY CARE IF IT HAD BEEN MODIFIED SOMEHOW. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I WAS BUYING. THANK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN SUPPLY ME. THANK YOU, DAVE - fastcarswomen Dear wokr-hotrod, Have to know----what's the elbow test? - kar-boy Dear Kar-boy. It has been used by employers and young men looking for wives since time began. Very simply. The woman puts her hands behind her neck and interlaces her fingers which causes her elbows to point straght forward from her body. Then she walks forward to a wall. If her proportions are correct, her elbows will not be the first things to touch the wall. This is a sure fire way to get the best secretary, assistant mechaninc, or future wife.
