Vehicle Detail
1971 Camaro Coupe 305 4 Speed Project or Student Vehicle Up for sale is our 1971 Camaro that we had purchased in May/08 from a gentleman in Colorado that had bought this car for his grandson. Turns out his grandson did not want the car because it was a 4 speed car. We purchased the car for a project vehicle. I stripped the passenger rear quarter panels paint to do some exploration and found that the rear quarter is factory down to the rear side marker, from the side marker down the panels on both sides were replaced. I put a coat of primer on the quarter panel to keep it from rusting. Basically that is all that has been done to the car since purchasing it back in 2008. This car does start, it does idle and it drives nicely. Having said that, It could be used as a students car or a project for someone to take on. Engine: 305 V8, Edelbrock carburator, Holley street dominator intake, Delco HEI distributor, Chrome valve covers, Headers w/ dual exhaust exiting in front of rear tires. Motor runs nice, does not smoke or knock. Wheels/Tires: Cragar S/S 15" wheels, Tires have lots of miles left on them. Interior: Factory bucket seats that are in very goos shape, rear seats are black and are in OK condition, Carpet is not original but in good condition. Radio is missing, glove box lock is missing. Headliner is near new condition, Door panels are in good shape but drivers door is missing the trim around the door latch. Dash has seen its wear and tear as is begining to pull away from being exposed to the sun. The trunk pan is in poor shape, very rusty and needs replacement. The rear speaker panel is missing. Exterior: Body has its fair share of parking lot dings, Lower valence has damage on it, Hood has a bulge where someone had closed the hood and created a bump from the air cleaner and had not checked for clearance. Doors close OK, Trunk is missing the key latch and opens only with a screw driver. Both front and rear bumpers has marks and nicks and the chrome is not good. Original Build sheet! This car was built in Van Nuys California and was delivered to Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque New Mexico. This Camaro does have a Colorado Title for easy importing back into the USA!!! VEHICLE IMPORTATION GUIDELINES (Vehicles Manufactured for Sale in a Country Other than Canada) January 4, 2010 The following provides information concerning the importation of a passenger car, truck, trailer, motorcycle, bus, or multi-purpose passenger vehicle (MPV) that was not originally manufactured to comply with U.S. or Canadian safety standards. Importers of motor vehicles must file an HS-7 Declaration form (available at ports of entry or at http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import at the time a vehicle is imported to identify the basis for the vehicle’s entry into the United Sates. As a general rule, a motor vehicle less than 25 years old must comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) to be imported on a permanent basis. Vehicles (other than motorcycles) manufactured to comply with the FMVSS will have a certification label affixed by the original manufacturer in the area of the driver-side door. Motorcycles will have the label close to the intersection of the steering post and the handlebars. To make importation easier, when purchasing abroad a vehicle certified to the U.S. standards, a buyer should have the seller verify in the sales contract that the label is attached and present this document at the time of importation. A vehicle without a certification label cannot be imported as a conforming vehicle. In this case, the importer must contract with a Registered Importer (RI) to modify the vehicle and post a DOT Conformance Bond in an amount equivalent to one and a half times the vehicle’s dutiable value. This bond is in addition to the normal Customs entry bond. Copies of the DOT Conformance Bond and the contract with an RI must be attached to the HS-7 form. Under the contract, the RI will modify the vehicle and certify that it conforms to all applicable FMVSS. Before an RI can modify a vehicle, NHTSA must have determined that the vehicle is eligible for importation based on its capability of being modified to conform to all applicable FMVSS. If no determination has been made, the RI must petition NHTSA to determine whether the vehicle is eligible for importation. If the petitioned vehicle is not similar to one sold in the U.S., this process can become very complex and costly. A list of vehicles that have been determined eligible for importation can be found on NHTSA’s web site at http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import. Since the cost of modifying a nonconforming vehicle, or the time required to bring it into conformance, may affect the decision to purchase a vehicle abroad, we strongly recommend discussing these matters with an RI before buying and shipping a vehicle to the U.S. For federal regulations concerning vehicle emissions, contact the Environmental Protection Agency, Certification and Compliance Division – Imports Program, 2000 Traverwood, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, (734) 214-4100, or visit the EPA website at http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/. Information concerning duty or other Customs matters can be obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection by calling that agency at 877-CBP-5511 or visit the Customs and Border Protection website at www.cbp.gov. For information regarding titling, registration, or operation of a properly imported vehicle in a specific State, we advise you to contact the Department of Motor Vehicles or other appropriate agency in that State. Purchaser must fill out form #7501 http://forms.cbp.gov/pdf/CBP_Form_7501.pdf US Border Services will help with the paperwork. Car is sold in as is condition with no warranties given or implied. Buyer pays all shipping and pick-up costs. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to its value and condition, and to bid solely upon that judgment only.
