Sorry to have to say: Please, don’t bid on this car if you don’t have the money. This Starfire Holiday Coupe is in excellent shape and has been restored to show quality. It is a rust-free Kansas/Colorado car and is 100% roadworthy, as far as I’m concerned. The original 345 horse 394 V-8 has been professionally rebuilt and has less than 3,000 miles on the rebuild. The original Hydra-Matic transmission has been professionally rebuilt and has less than 3,000 miles on the rebuild. The power steering has a new hose. The original bracket and bottle that holds your choice of extra anti-freeze or extra windshield washer fluid is still under the hood The car has power steering, power brakes, power windows, power driver seat, factory a/c, autronic eye, working Wonderbar radio with foot switch and power rear antenna, which is inop. It has new base/clear paint that has been finished so that you can count your remaining teeth (if you’re like me……) in the reflection. There are a few little dings/scratches that I have touched up as best I could. The rear bumper has been newly re-chromed and the rest of the exterior trim is in very good condition. The pot metal on one of the rear taillites has some minor pitting, but still has a good shine. This car has the correct, original, heavy, multi-pieced, finned full wheel covers. The tires are near new with excellent tread. The interior has new vinyl front and rear seating, new headliner, new correct rear package shelf and new carpet, with the original sewn-in foot pads, front and rear, which are in excellent condition. The full length front-to-rear console is in very good condition. The dash is crack-free, while the steering wheel has one visible crack. The odometer shows 83,000 original miles. The suspension is in good shape. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly and strong with no leaks, no smoke, no hesitation. The 10.5:1 compression engine still has the original 4 bbl carb. The transmission shifts smoothly and firmly with no leaks, no hesitation. The brakes are in very good shape. The engine compartment could use some attention for show. The glass is all good, the windows and vents work as they should, with the rear side windows a little slow, the cold/hot “idiot lites” work as they should and all gauges work properly, including the tachometer on the console. The a/c is inop, as is the clock. I just had the Wonderbar radio refurbished and it works as it should, with the mechanical dial scooting back and forth, trying to find a station. NADA shows a ’63 StarfireHoliday at Big Bucks - $42,680 in #2 condition, $28,600 in #3 “20 footer” condition and $13,530 in #4 beater shape. In my opinion, this guy is between a 3 and a 2 – it’s for sure better than a “20 footer”. At no reserve and with my starting price of $9,300, you can be certain that I intend to sell the car. And I’m sure it will sell with a ton of “wiggle room” for the new owner. I have more cars than I have room to keep and I’m going to miss this one, but need the $$. I will expect a $1000 deposit within 3 days of the end of the auction and the balance within 10 days of the end of the auction.
