1978 Lincoln Mark V. This is a 2 owner Lincoln and has always been in Arizona so there are no rust and corrosion issues with this car. The history as told to me was that the first owner ordered the car especially for his wife from the factory with the red and white color combination and also with the rare white phantom convertible vinyl top. After the wife died the car was stored in his garage for a number of years with stuff piled on top of it. The second owner knew of the car and asked if she could buy it. The answer was yes and so she bought the car in November of 1999. The Lincoln at this time had 89k miles. The second owner drove the car daily till about 1 year ago and during these 10 years had the car repainted in the original color and had the seats redone with cloth inserts as leather seats are not all that comfortable for long distance driving in Arizona. The Lincoln currently has 140k miles. After over 30 years the car still runs and drives very well and still has that nice big Lincoln ride. The vinyl top is factory original and is showing signs of it's age a little but is still very usable as is. The body is straight and solid, paint still looks good but does have a few rock chips and imperfections. Mechanically the Lincoln is very good and has plenty of life left. The A/C and heat both seem to work well, as does the cruise control, cartier clock, and 8-track radio. There are a couple of minor fixes required, these include driver power seat switch needs to be replaced, passanger side window off the track however motor and all electronics associated with it work well. Also the window tint is old and could use being taken off and redone. There is also a cracked front signal lens as can be seen in the picture. I bought the Lincoln as a second vehicle because it is stylish and runs well however I just aquired my brothers Cadillac Eldorado and don't have room for 3 cars.
