1981 Mercedes Benz 380SL Convertible - 67,783 CarFax Documented Miles No accidents! Runs pretty good too! No rust in or around this "heated garage stored" car. The body is real nice except for a minor crease in front of the fuel filler lid, and a minor repair on a small section on the passenger front fender. Paint job looks original and is in excellent to showroom condition!! Needs wax! Interior is nice - wood is clean and no cracks in the dashboard. As pictured - what you see is what you get. This car is going to the highest bidder. No Reserve! No Buy It Now!! No Trades!!! Convertible top is excellent with a small 3 inch tear between the passenger side panel and rear window. The 2 plastic side panels each have a spider crack/hole large enough to put your finger through. Hardtop is in mint condition - comes with a hardtop cover and car cover. Motor is strong, but LEAKS OIL. Enough oil that it will not pass NY State's strict inspection standard. Good tires and brakes. Drives nice - strong motor, no noises or smoking. Speedometer and odometer function properly. Slight pause in the tranny shift between first and second gear - otherwise strong tranny. You can drive it home, but no guarantees. BRING OIL! Shipping is recommended for a long trip of 150 miles or more. Does not overheat and the oil leak is hard to pin down - assume the worst - hope for the best. Fuel gauge and power windows work intermittently. When left idling for 1 hour there is a 7 - 8 inch oil wide oil slick. Car is being sold in "As Is" condtion. Because this car won't pass NY State's inspection... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
