Offered here is a 1968 VW Bug Sunroof, EMPI Clone. The origin of this VW appears to be Arizona as represented by the previous owner. Based on the information provided by the previous owner, this VW has a 1776 dual port engine professionally rebuilt about fve years ago by Tom Bowman of Phoenix Arizona. This bug was repainted and re upholstered about the same time. The previous owner installed a new fuel tank, lines, tires, clutch and pressure plate, bumpers, motor and transmission mounts, new nose cone on the transmission, and a new carburator and battery. Since purchasing this vehicle in May 2010, I discovered a number of areas needing attention, and unfortunately, not disclosed by the previous owner. All this lights are now working, directional signals repaired and working, new ignition switch, professionally rebuilt speedometer - fully functional. Installed a new fuse box and repaired all wiring in the front trunk area. Front end: Installed a new stock beam, new ball joints, seals and bushings. Also replaced the muffler. All this work and more was completed by French's Auto Clinic, Yacca Valley, CA. I have over $2,250 in repairs since purchasing. The paint is still shinny and looks good. There is some very minor suface rust on the outside of the pans. There are a few minor dings and dents. The rear apron needs work and the hood shows some minor surface rust around the handle. There is some paint fade? near the right corner of the top, near the sun roof. The EMPI accessories were added buy the previous owner and include the stripe kit, bumper guards, rear chrome lights, license plate frame, EMPI Sprint Star wheels with caps, GTV steering wheel, EMPI air cleaner, and rear pop out windows. This bug is not perfect. It needs factory sun roof seals - I have sealed with clear caulking to keep the water out. The windshield wipers work when they want to. I have a clear California Title. This is a great running vehicle and a lot of fun.
