Vehicle Detail

Bike is all original except for Carbs and tires. About two years ago, I bought rebuilt carbs from a dealer on EBay. Best thing I ever did, it really saved me lots of headaches. Tires have about 3500 miles on them, plenty of rubber left. I got the bike from a friend's dad who bought it new in '83 and rode it locally until '89 when he parked her in his garage where she stayed until I talked him out of her in 2008. I completely went through her and rebuilt or reconditioned the clutch master and slave cylinders, brake master cylinder and both front calipers, replaced the carbs, cleaned the tank and refurbed the tank petcock, replaced the battery, checked the stator per the manual, replaced the plugs and battery, put a new windshield on her and gave her a really thorough crankcase drain and clean prior to ever firing her up. She runs like a sewing machine, but does have a slight oil leak which I have never been able to locate, but I think she just needs a new drain plug. The oil leak is not bad but should be located and fixed as it is an annoyance. She bike has never been laid down, but looks as if she might have been dropped once, and because she was stored in a garage with a lot of junk for nearly twenty years, she has just a few minor scratches and she has one deep scratch about 1 inch long on the tank, but no dents at all. She is not a show bike, but she cleans up real nice. My wife and I rode her for about 2 1/2 years and put over 4000 miles on her. We have a combined weight of about 325 lbs and the Nighthawk never even acted like we were too much for her, even at 85 MPH. She is a strong little bike and is an awesome first or second bike for a young or inexperienced rider or maybe a petite lady who wants her own ride, as she is light enough to handle, but powerful enough to keep up with most of the pack. I would not be selling her, but I have since graduated to a cruiser, and don't have a use for her anymore. I just don't want to see such an awesome bike sitting and collecting dust in the back of my garage. I am not willing to ship this bike, but may be willing to work a delivery within a 350 mile radius of Huntsville, AL for a nominal fee and costs. I have included some pics, but I will be willing to send more upon request.
