Originally owned and purchased in 1968 by my father in St. Louis, MO. This is an original Chevrolet Impala Super Sport with all original badging and identifying characteristics. It has been carefully restored taking great care at each phase. Over 95% of the car is from the factory original. All details were accounted for, even minute things like the hand drawn marker inscriptions from the factory on the firewall. The car was taken apart bolt by bolt down to the chassis, cleaned, painted and all necessary mechanical repairs and/or restorations were made. All of which has been documented, including the original order sheet from 1968, in a photo scrapbook that is included in the purchase. There are 8,000 miles on the odometer since the heads were redone and around 50K before that. Heads were redone to ensure that it stays compatible with present day unleaded gas. The bottom of the engine, however, was not touched as it was in perfect condition. The car runs smoothly and the air conditioning blows cold making it perfectly suitable for daily driving. Most of the interior was deliberately left intact to preserve as much originality as possible in lieu of replacing with new (ie. Dasboard, center counsel, carpeting). These items are nonetheless in great shape. Overall, this car is beautiful and is exactly how it was when it rolled off the assembly line back in 1968. The new owner of this car will be proud to have such a well kept, rare and intact piece of history. This is not a concours car but it is very very nice and certainly a show car by most standards. This car is clean, free of rust, good quality, solid, and fun to drive! This car drives tight and sounds smooth. I wish my photos were better! I am not a professional photographer,sorry. The numbers do match and that engine is not a re-stamp. Like I said, this car is an original that was fully restored. A deposit of $1000.00 made to my paypal account must be received within 48 hours and the balance within 96 hours. If you would like to send the full amount at one time then we do not need to have the deposit. Method of payment is bank transfer,cashiers check, bank money order, or other approved by me. All funds must clear my bank before the car can be picked up personally or shipped. It takes at least 10 business days for a check to clear both banks. A wire transfer is safer for both of us. Shipping is up to the new owner but I can help set that up. The car is currently stored in a secure climate controlled lock up and will not be moved after the sale till shipping can be arranged. No time limit on your shipping. It has a good home for as long as you need to make your arrangements. All paperwork for registration and transfer of ownership will be provided when all funds clear my bank. No exceptions please. Sold as is with no warranty either expressed or implied but the numbers, trim tag, vin tag, and condition is like I say. I reserve the right to end all bids and this auction at any time.
