Ronald Reagan’s 1969 Cadillac Fleetwood Model 75 Formal Car Purchased by the State of California for the Ronald Reagan California Gubernatorial Administration and later sold at Kruse International Auctions in Scottsdale, Arizona. In the early 1970s, two Oregon buyers attended the Kruse auction in Scottsdale and purchased the Reagan Cadillac and a Lincoln Continental and drove them back to Hood River, Oregon. I later purchased the Reagan Cadillac in Hood River and had it moved to Portland, Oregon. The car is presently located in Palm Springs, California, and is as pictured. The car has been driven recently and is in a state of good preservation, although a serious collector will want to have it completely and comprehensively restored. The car is fully original and is equipped with a 472 cid and four-barrel carburetor as was standard equipment at the time. The interior is black leather and black brocade fabric with black carpeting and has jump seats and foot rests. I have no reason to believe that I will not hear from the State of California as soon as tomorrow morning. I expected to hear from the State of California by now. As you may know, eBay restricts changes to auction content within 12 hours of the end of any auction. That deadline would preclude my posting the certified registration record in the morning, so I have no choice but to end the auction early for lack of complete information. I will relist this item immediately upon receipt of the documentation from the State of California. This is of course disappointing for me but I want to be absolutely certain that the next owner of this beautiful, historic vehicle has indiputable proof of its provenance.
