Need to sell my "baby". 1980 GMC C1500 Stepside pickup truck - I currently drive this vehicle EVERY DAY. It was purchased in Illinois in 2009, and this is the first time it saw snow this year. I used this as a commuter vehicle daily (20 miles each way) and drove it from St. Louis, Missouri to Buffalo NY and back 3 times. When purchased, it needed a ton of work to get it in safe and inspectable driving condition. Here's what has been done so far, with the year in parenthesis Brakes, calipers, master cylinder (2010) Tires and rims (2009) Shocks (2009) Ignition cylinder and harness (2010) Clutch (2009) Heater Core, thermostat (2010) Muffler (2010) Dashboard and Door Panel refurb (2010) This 6 cyl 2 bbl engine is original, and the oil is changed every 3K without fail. There is no evidence of filings or antifreeze in the oil when changed. It has passed inspection each year, and is currently up in March. I don't have the time to put any more into it - I need to find something that my wife can drive too, and she doesn't want to learn how to drive a standard! There is obviously body rust (it is 30+ years old) but the frame is in great shape. It is typical of the GMC's of this era. The glovebox hinge is broken, but it latches closed without any problems. The passenger side interior door panel has 5 small holes in it from a speaker which was removed. The bed rails are rusted, and the original wood has long since rotted away, and is currently covered by a sheet of plywood. The neutral safety switch has been disabled. I do have the steering wheel center piece, although it isn't installed in the photos. The vehicle is being sold AS IS with NO WARRANTY. It is able to be driven immediately by the highest bidder, but will need transporter or dealer plates - I am NOT letting the buyer use my current registration, sorry! Please ask questions if you have any - this is a great truck, and would be a perfect project for someone who has the time. The tires and rims alone are worth the buy it now price.
