Vehicle Detail
For sale here is a 1963 buick Lesabre. Heres the story behind the car, bought new by the original owner at Van Male Buick on Western ave. in Chicago. Driven occasionally until 1982 when the car was parked after a minor fender bender. Never left the garage until I brought the car home in May. Thats right, its "barn fresh" after 27 odd years of extended long term storage. One owner, original miles 62,000. Options are as follows, 401 v8 with 2 barrel, twin turbine automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, sonomatic radio, safety group consisting of back up lights, glare proof mirrior, parking brake signal light, safety buzzer and trip odometer, and courtesy lights. windshield washer with duel speed wipers, soft ray tinted windshield, deluxe wheel covers, and white sidewall tires. I have spent the last couple of months doing all of the nessary maintenance & repairs required to get the car running and back on the road. I performed the FIRST tune up on the car since new, consisting of plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air & fuel filters, oil & filter. After some needed prep I started the car and it came to life after its long rest. I quickly found the water pump was locked up and stat stuck closed as well as the radiator core was swiss cheese. The buick recieved a new water pump, stat, and the original radiator recored, new hoses & coolant. The car also needed the power brake booster rebuilt, new master cylinder, all new wheel cylinders, new shoes front & rear, drums cut, and new rear steel brake line accross the rear end. original carburator has been rebuilt, new lower y pipe & tail pipe, the rest of the exhaust was new when parked. I also replaced the choke heat riser tube. All four bias ply police special tires were replaced due to dry rot with a nice used set of goodyear reatta radial white walls as the car originally came with. New front stabilizer links were also needed and installed. Bais ply white wall spare is still in place in the trunk. All of the original tune up parts have been kept for the new owner. There are some spare parts that are included with the car, front bumper, tail lights, turn signals, moldings, trunk lock, head light bezels, etc. The buick is extremly original. Everyting is in working condition including the radio. The interior is nearly showroom with only some wear to the drivers arm rest, kick panel, and carpet at the drivers door. Most of the chrome is in very nice shape with little or no pitting. the upolstry is very nice with only the center of the front seat back needing the middle seems restitched. I have the owners manual showing maintenance records written inside, window sticker, some reciepts, and original keys for the car. The paper dealership lube stickers are still in place on the drivers door jamb. Color is original paint baige with baige/bronze interior. As the car is an original Chicago car it does have some rust. Floors & frame appear to be very solid, lower legs of the fenders are rusted out, seems of the door shells are blistered, some minor rust around the rear wheel openings, and passenger rear bumper corner has a rust hole. The car is by no means beyond repair, but does need cosmetic restoration. There are some misc. spare parts that are also included with the car. The buick is a very solid, sound, good running, one owner, original miles car. interested bidders may reach me at 708-214-3511 if needed. I welome any serious buyers to look the car over in person.
