Vehicle Detail

1950 Chevrolet Coupe, 235 (Bearing insert) six cylinder engine has replaced the origianl 216 (according to the previous owner it is very low mileage), original 3 speed trans and rearend. Very good engine....does not smoke or rattle, has good oil pressure and good power. This car will sit in traffic on a summer day in the Mississippi heat and never break 200 degrees. This car sat stored in a body shop for almost 20 years until I bought it a couple of years ago. The car has new clutch assembly, new brakes including lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, shoes, springs, etc., the distributor was rebuilt, the carb was rebuilt, new fuel pump and new poly gas tank with new sending unit, the trans had new seals put in and new shifter bushings, and I put a new battery in it last summer. The car has a chevrolet heater upgrade from the factory, but I have not hooked it up to see if it works or not. As you can see from the pics, we stripped the car and shot it with PPG Epoxy primer and then added the blue scallops. The wheels were cleaned and painted as well. The tires are Firestone 6.70-15 wide whites with about 50% tread give or take (back ones are a little worse than the front). This is a very solid car with very little rust at all. As you can see, there is a small area of rust in each lower door. The bottoms of the doors are solid though and this can be easily fixed if desired. There is also some rust in the front floor board area, mainly just where your feet land. I have formed and screwed some sheetmetal over this area, but again this can be easily fixed if desired. As you can see in the pics, the trunk is very solid, even the spare tire well is solid. The windows roll up and down and both vent windows operate correctly. I have also put a new windshield gasket on the car. The bumpers are painted, but the grille is original finish. I can possibly deliver the car at buyers expense depending on distance. This car will be sold with a bill of sale, as it has never been titled (MS did not title until 1971). This car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I've been driving this car for a year now and would not be scared to take off anywhere in it. It's a great rat rod style car, but would also make a great restoration project as well. I'll be glad to answer any questions. On Feb-14-11 at 12:40:39 PST, seller added the following information: May consider trades of 40's-60's rods and customs....
