Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1975 Dodge Dart Sport. I have installed a 1973 grille as I feel it is better looking than the 1975 grill. I have modified the car with the stroker small block (408), 4 speed transmission, buckets & console and 8 3/4 rear end. The car had approximately 70,000 miles on it when I started the rebuild, and at that time I installed an odometer with 0 miles showing. The actual mileage on the car is now approximately 82000miles (70,000 plus the 11643 currently on the odometer). The following work has all been completed within the last 5 years and 11643 miles: The engine has been completely rebuilt - it is based on a 360, is bored .030 over and has had a new Eagle forged (steel) 4" stroker crank installed making a total displacement of 408. The entire rotating assembly has been balanced. The compression is 10:1 and the car runs great on pump premium. It has Keith Black forged pistons, a windage tray, fully ported heads with 2.02" intake valves, adjustable rockers and a Crane roller cam (.528 intake, .548 exhaust). The carburetor is a Holley 750 vacuum secondary with the choke removed and a 1" spacer installed. There is also a high volume fuel pump and 3/8 fuel line and fuel pick up tube. The headers are TTI ceramic coated step headers - quite expensive but they fit nice and make good power. The distributor has been re-curved and the car has a mopar orange ignition box. The radiator has been replaced with a new one. I drive the car all summer, sometimes idling in rush hour traffic and it has never over heated. The starter is a mopar mini starter. The transmission was rebuilt completely approximately 5000 miles ago with all new bearings and synchros. A new Centerforce dual friction clutch was also installed at that time. As it is a diaphragm type clutch it does not require huge pedal forces to operate. The shifter is a Hurst competition plus unit with a rare console handle and custom shift rods using bearing ends (see pictures). There is a small tear in the upper shift boot. The differential is an A body 8 3/4 which was rebuilt approximately 6000 miles ago. It received all new bearings, new 3.55 gears, a new (not used or rebuilt) power lock sure grip unit, Yukon axles with 3" studs and a u bolt style of input flange. The center section is a 489 case with a crush sleeve eliminator. There is an adjustable pinion snubber on the car. The drive shaft is new and has new Spicer 7290 series u joints. The car has custom welded in sub frame connectors, a drive shaft loop, and full 2 1/2" dual exhaust with built in dumps and an H pipe. This is an extremely solid car with a few small bubbles both in front of and behind the rear wheels (see pictures) that will require some attention. There is absolutely no rust (other that some typical surface flash rust) on any of the floors pans, trunk floor, frame rails or inner fenders. The car has the dual sport mirrors and fender mounted turn signals. The front bumper on the car is not as seen in the pictures (a lightweight plastic bumper was on it at the time). The original bumper, mounts and filler are now installed, and are in decent driver condition. There are a few small dents, parking lot dings and rock chips on the car - see the pictures. There is one fairly large chip (approx 1/4" by 1/4") on the drivers door. The seats were re covered less than a year ago in the stock style, only with nice cloth inserts that look great and are comfortable to sit on. The dash pad is in decent shape with 2 small cracks on the left hand end (see pics). The factory tuff wheel is decent and looks O.K. but the foam at the top of the wheel is slightly loose. Everything inside works as it should and the car comes with the Autometer Phantom tach and shift light as shown. The factory radio is present, but disconnected and I cannot say if it works or not. There is a stereo mounted under the passenger seat with a remote control and an ipod input. The front tires have about 90 % tread remaining and are in great shape. The backs need to be replaced. The brakes were all redone 1 1/2 years ago with new rotors, pads, rear wheel cylinders etc. Both wiper pivot seals have been replaced but the car still leaks a little in heavy rain - I suspect the windshield seal is allowing some water in but I rarely have the car out in the rain so it hasn't been an issue. The front end has been completely rebuilt with new upper and lower bushings, ball joints and outer tie rod ends. The rear leafs have had new bushings installed. I had the car appraised for insurance purposes less than a year ago. It was appraised at $19,000. If you would like to see a copy of it I can scan it and email it to you. This is by no means a flawless show car, it is a nicely put together driver that looks good going down the road, sounds great and is a blast to drive. I ran the car last year at a Pinks All Out event in Seattle, and was expecting to run mid 12's - it ran an 11.9 and 12.0! The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. The reserve is set at a reasonable amount. If you have any questions, please ask. If you would like to talk send me a message through ebay with your phone number and I will call you. I can email more pictures if you are interested. I can arrange delivery to the Vancouver, British Columbia area, or to the Washington State border (to meet you or your car carrier) for the price of my fuel. Good luck and happy bidding.
