1965 Austin Healey MKIII Sprite This is a true barn find in incredible overall condition! Very straight solid body with minimal surface rust. Floors and trunk are solid! I have no idea what the actual mileage is. All guages and lights work as they should! Car is 99% complete and appears to only be missing the bonnet badge and has 1 cracked tail-light. Original AH branded center caps in great condition! Car appears to have been repainted from it's original red many years ago. No previous body work noticed!! When the car was towed to me, it did not run. My conclusion was bad fuel and gummed up carbs. I drained the fuel, cleaned the fuel filter, and replaced the carbs with a used set and she fired right up! I also replaced the rear wheel brake cylinders and 2 tires. The car runs and drive well. Transmission shifts smoothly. Clutch is strong. Interior appears to be original and in fantastic condition! All glass is intact and in good condition! The original tonneau cover is in nice shape as well(a few buttons need to be replaced). The convertible top is also included but appears to be missing the center cross bar/frame and does need some attention. All chrome and trim pieces are there and in very nice condition! This should be an incredibly easy restoration project!!! I nice paint job and a little TLC and this car will be ready for spring time cruising!! I have spoken with my paint and body guy and he is willing to strip the car completely, make any needed repairs and paint in back to original specs for less than $1500. If the winning bidder is intersted in this, he can have the car completely restored within 2-3 weeks. Should the car not sell in this auction, I will have this done and relist the car in the $8K range.
