Vehicle Detail
Please scroll down THROUGHOUT the entire auction. View all the pictures and video clips prior to asking questions, placing a bid, or making an offer. Please only make SERIOUS offers. I have spent many hours creating this auction. I am providing over 150 detailed pictures and video clips of this vehicle. UNLIKE most cars here on Ebay, I have big pictures in extreme detail so you KNOW EXACTLY what you are buying. I do not want to waste your time or mine and I want you to know EXACTLY what you are buying with NO surprises. Please view my feedback and bid with confidence! Up for sale is this georgous Viper Blue, Big Block V8, 4-Wheel power disc brake, 18" staggered wheeled, future PRO-TOURING 1955 Chevrolet 2 Door 210 post car. This car is a beautiful car that draws attention absolutely everywhere around town. This car has underwent the start of a mild restoration done on it throughout the summer, fall, and now winter. This car still needs finished, and I have decided to let someone else enjoy finishing it. I will nitpick it as much as I can and it will probably sound terrible, but I want to be thorough in the description and am trying to put myself in a buyers standpoint. I do not want any surprises. But you can drive it while you work on it!! I will completely describe this 55' Chevy with a detailed description along with detailed pictures below. I have the CLEAN and CLEAR Ohio title in hand. You can contact me by phone at: 513-464-TEN TWENTY, or you can of course use the ask a question link above in the auction. - Frame looks solid throughout. - BRAND NEW professionally painted PPG 2-stage base/clear paint job. It is a beautiful metallic "Viper Blue Pearlcoat" with a lot of clearcoat. This color is jawdropping in the direct sunlight. Countless hours were performed sanding and buffing cleacoat to an absolute mirror finish! - BRAND NEW Boss 338 staggered wheels/tires. 18x8 front rims wrapped with 235's. 18x9.5 rear rims wrapped with 265's. Less then 50 miles on these wheels!! - Hood, both doors, and the trunk open and close with that tight/solid clicking sound that is hard to find on these old cars. - Headlights, brightlights, tail lights, and right turn signal work good. Left turn signal and brake lights do not. Probably needs brake light switch(cheap) and left turn signal bulb.. - The floorpan is solid, but it has been patched in a few places over the years. Ultimately it could eventually use a new floorpan. - Both bumpers are pitting and aged. They are of driver quality, but they would need replaced to be "show" quality. The bumpers are currently bolted on securely, but do not have all the bolts on them. - Some chrome/mouldings around the car are aged and are not show quality. - The windshield and drivers rear window is cracked. The rest of the glass is crackfree. - The body looks good and straight for the most part, but it does have some wrinkles in it if you look closely at different angles. Some people would advertise it as "straight", but look at ALL the pictures and judge for yourself. - The paint is very nice, but it does have some imperfections. There is a 2 or 3 very small scratches/chips and there is some rubbing compound left over from sanding/buffing in some of the nooks & crannies. - Imperfections noted above but pics of any/all imperfections are clearly pictured below. However, Overall this is an absolutely gorgeous classic american muscle car. You could hold your head up high cruising around town, car shows, or cruise-ins. I get a lot of attention and compliments on this 55' Chevy everywhere I have driven it! - Big Block V8. I was told this was a 454.(Sounds very healthy and has a lot of power) - TH400 automatic transmission.(shifts into every gear nicely with no hesitation) - Rearend is whisper quiet with no whining.(not sure on rearend gear ratio, but cruises around town just fine) - BRAND NEW 4-Wheel Power Disc brake kit. New booster, master cylinder, lines, calipers, rotors, pads, etc... (Needless to say, the brakes work excellent. Stops hard and straight!) - Manual steering. - Newer front and rear shocks. (The suspension feels nice and this car is NOT a rattle trap.) - Newer full DUAL exhaust system with headers and cherry bomb mufflers. Sounds good, but in my opinion, a set of flowmaster mufflers would sound even better! - Like a lot of big blocks, its a little cold natured. After 30 seconds or so it purrz like a kitten and sounds good. The carburator might need adjusted a little bit, but it runs, shifts, stops, sounds, and drives good. Its enjoyable to cruise around. Please view all the pics below, and scroll down to the interior category. - The interior is decent looking and presentable, but is far from perfect. - Door panels look pretty cleancut. - The dash and inner doors have been painted a semi-gloss black which looks decent. - The front bucket seats are from a different vehicle. They are a black fabric and are comfortable, but a real 55' Chevy seat or even a nice black leather pair of seats would do wonders for the interior. - The rear seat looks pretty good and is probably worthy of being left alone. - The headliner is actually in nice condition for the most part. - This 55' Still needs a rear package tray or maybe some carpet in the back behind the rear seat. - Original gauge cluster does not appear to be working. The gas gauge moves to way past full when you turn the key on. - The key will crank the engine just like it should, but there is a hidden toggle switch under the dash which has to be flipped for it to start. - Both windows roll up and down smoothly. - There is no radio or stereo, so I think that also would be a nice addition to this car.... - The trunk looks decent. The trunk pan has been painted black. The sides of the trunk appear to still have their ORIGINAL 1955 paint on them which is pretty cool. You can see some of the original 1955 jack/spare instruction sheet ontop of the original light blue paint.
