Vehicle Detail
1964 PONTIAC CATALINA CONVERTIBLE 428 HIGH OUT PUT ENGINE Well I'm sure no expert on Pontiac, but I ended up with this 1964 convertible from a friend of mine. He bought it over 10 years ago and had just been restored. I am giving you this information just as it was given to me. The car was easy to restore, because the body was so straight, and had zero rust anywhere. The restorer built a brand new 428 H.O.motor for it. It has a 4 bolt main H.O. block. with the good heads and high compression. I know it has roller rockers and I believe it has a roller cam as well. It has a big cam, big manifold, big carburator etc. The exhaust manifolds are the factory 421/428 H.O. cast headders that sell for over 1500.00 on E-bay. The transmission is a turbo 400 with a shift kit and the car has a posi-trac rear end. The car has additional heavy service sway bars, front and rear. Not only is the car a convertible, but it has the 8 lug/aluminum wheel option as well . It also has an almost new optima battery. This car runs excellent and was driven very little over the last 10 years. It was driven to Salt lake city from Denver about 6 months ago. This car has a real expensive stereo system witch was professionally installed. My friend who I got this car from is not a "car nut" he just bought it because it was so nice and only $15,000. at the time. His mechanic told him it needs a arm bushing and so he parked it. This car is pretty dirty and just how I got it. With some detailing and elbow grease it could look much nicer. Here is a list of what this car could use A arm bushings a windshield a new drier side window (it's creaked) and the driver side door panel re screwed down. This car is not for a teenager or the faint of heart....It is a serious hot rod (almost scary) It is certainly not perfect but I can't imagine finding a nicer car for the price. My opening bid is 7,500 with no reserve. It's kind of a poor man's 1963 421 super duty clone if you will . I would much rather you plan for the worst, and hope for the best, than be disappointed in any way. I an selling this car as-is. Now that having been said, I am confident that whoever wins this car will be thrilled with it. I only want the buyer to be as excited as I was when I found it. I have a clear and open Colorado title for it. Feel free to ask me any thing about the car you may want to know and I will try my best to answer the best I can. Terms of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can.
