Vehicle Detail
Please read the full description before placing any bids on this vehicle, and feel free to ask any questions that you have after reading the description. This auction is for a 1980 Datsun 280zx 10th Anniversary Special Edition, #676 of 3000 produced. I purchased it from a coworker about 6 years ago, and since then less than 200 miles have been put on the car. It has been stored under cover and driven on occasion to keep it in good running condition. The vehicle is all original with all factory badges and emblems, and is in the original black and gold two-tone paint. The engine runs very smoothly with the exception of an exhaust leak. The drive train is in excellent condition, the transmission shifts smoothly through all of the gears and the clutch engages smoothly as well. Since I have had the car I had Nissan replace the front brake rotors and pads as they were worn out when I bought the car. Later I replaced the rear brake pads and calipers, replaced the brake fluid, installed a new battery and installed seat covers. Some of the vacuum hoses have cracked as they have aged and I have had to replace some of them. It was going to be a restoration project that my dad and I planned on undertaking, we just never got around to starting it. *PLEASE READ BEFORE EMAILING QUESTIONS This car could be a daily driver if desired with a little care, but the ideal situation would be a restoration project. The paint is faded from sitting an extended period of time before I purchased the vehicle, it is worse on the passenger side than the driver side (see pictures). There are some areas of spot rust in various areas around the body, however, most of them have been treated in order to prevent further deterioration. The windshield has one small crack, and another chip in the upper portion of the windshield. The T-Tops are in great shape and do not leak. The interior of the vehicle will need some attention: the upholstery is worn out and seat covers have been installed to cover the slightly torn seats, the carpet is fairly dirty/stained and is ripped on the passenger side, the dash is cracked in 3 spots which you can see in the pictures. All of the gauges work properly except for the clock. The cassette tape player works, but the AM/FM radio does not work very well, although the power antennae does operate. The power windows work excellently without any issues. The vehicle has air conditioning, though I have not tried to use it here in Oregon. I don't know if it needs to be recharged, or if it needs to be serviced. The vehicle is by no means a perfect car, yet it is complete and in good running condition and has a clear title. It is a highly collectable car for the right enthusiast as it was part of a limited production number of 3000 and is considered a classic Japanese sports car. ***The buyer is responsible for a down payment of $500 within 24 hours of the end of the auction. *Complete payment of the final price via Paypal or cash (in person) is due within 7 days of the close of the auction, unless other arrangements are made with me prior. *I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time, as the vehicle is also listed locally. *The buyer is responsible for pickup of the vehicle, as well as any arrangements that are needed in order to have the vehicle picked up or shipped. I am a reasonable guy, if there are any issues or concerns, just email me or call and we can work it out, ask for Josh. The vehicle is located in Dallas, Oregon (west of Salem).
