1980 Diesel Volkswagen Caddy. Body in great shape - no rust. Left strut tower rebuilt, right side is in good condition. Five speed transmission (gears are a little sloppy so I'm including a bushing kit that will fix that up for you). New battery and fuel filter. Runs like a champ except now it has on and off idling difficulties since the weather has gotten cold. I think the diesel is gelling up so an anti-gelling additive should get rid of the problem. 50 mpg easy, which is prime. Odometer reads 10,226 - I imagine that it's 102,260 but not sure. I'm the third owner; spent most of its life in California and then five years in a heated garage in Winnipeg. I've had it about six months in Fargo. Driven it to New Hampshire and back without any problems. $300 Deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. I'd be glad to help with shipping but the winning bidder is responsible for arrangement and costs. Full payment is due within 5 days of auction close. I accept paypal, money transfer, or check. I threw some anti-gel in the tank and started the truck up for the first time in a month. Drove it around for a few hours without a single hiccup. Starting it up reminded me of another issue. The glow plugs aren't getting any power so for cold weather starts I use a wire to connect the positive battery terminal directly to the plugs which works, so it isn't the plugs that are faulty. Should be an easy/cheap fix I just haven't gone through the troubleshooting process. I've got a really thorough Bentley maintenance manual that I'll give with the truck. It walks you through any repairs you can do without special tooling. I apologize for the delayed info on the issues. I'm pretty sure that's everything you need to know. If something comes up where you feel shorted out or misled, I'd be happy to work with you for a reasonable solution.
