Up for sale is my georgous 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 Clone. This car is a beautiful car. This car has had a mild restoration done on it throughout the summer, fall, and now winter. Everything was professionally done. This car could still use some small stuff here and there to finish it up, but I have decided to let someone else enjoy finishing it. I now have a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air(NOT FOR SALE), and need the money out of this 68' Camaro. Otherwise, this one would be a KEEPER and I would finish it. I will completely describe this classic muscle car with a detailed description along with detailed pictures below. I have the CLEAN and CLEAR Ohio title in hand. You can contact me by phone at: 513-464-TEN TWENTY, or you can of course use the ask a question link above in the auction. - Frame is perfectly solid throughout. - The following parts are BRAND NEW: Both quarter panels, 2" Goodmark steel cowl induction hood, complete SS396 emblem kit, both door weather strippings, trunk weather stripping, hood, door, and glove box rubber bumpers, both tail lamp chrome bezels w/ gasket set, both park lamp chrome bezels w/ gasket set, complete wheel well stainless moulding set, both door chrome mirrors w/ hardware, + so much more... - BRAND NEW PPG 2-stage professional base/clear paint job. It is a beautiful "Marina Blue Poly" with a lot of clearcoat. Countless hours sanding and buffing cleacoat to an absolute mirror finish!! - Hood, both doors, and the trunk open and close with that tight/solid clicking sound that is hard to find on these old cars. However, both doors have to be closed hard due to the new weatherstripping. Prior to weatherstripping, you could close the doors with a push of a finger. - Glass throughout is crack free. - Exterior lights work good. - Authentic GM staggered Rally wheels with like new staggered tires. - Drivers rear floorpan will need replaced sooner or later. Trunk pan has fist size rust hole too. However, overall this 1st Generation Camaro is solid as clearly seen below. - Both bumpers are driver quality and look good, but they would need replaced to be "show" quality. I also have a complete set of BRAND NEW bumper bolts that go with this car too. - Imperfections noted above but pics of any/all imperfections that I could find below. However, Overall this is an absolutely gorgeous classic american muscle car. You could hold your head up high cruising around town, car shows, or cruise-ins. I get a lot of attention and compliments on this Camaro everywhere I have driven it! - Chevrolet V8 355 engine.(runs excellent with good oil pressure) - Small loping cam, sounds barely larger then factory, but not sure. I do not know specs. - Common engine bolt-ons....valve covers, gold breather, exhaust headers etc. - TH350 automatic transmission.(shifts into every gear nicely with no hesitation) - 10 Bolt rearend.(not sure on rearend gear ratio, but is probably at 3RPMs at 60mph.) - Drum brakes. (All brakes seem to work nicely. Stops good and straight, however the right rear brake will sometimes freeze up when car sits for too long in garage.) - Power steering. (works good, pleasure to drive.) - Air shocks in rear.(Both work good) - The driverside tail pipe needs mounted or hung up better as it will sometimes rattle against leaf spring. - This car is real cold natured. It takes awhile for it to warm up and idle(a few minutes). But it runs, shifts, stops, sounds, and drives good. Its enjoyable to cruise around. Please view all the pics below, and scroll down to the interior category. - The interior has been customized with a medium blue fabric which I think compliments the Marina blue paint. - Door panels, seats, carpet, etc....is decent looking. - BRAND NEW stainless sill plates as well as a brand new dome light assembly. - Original idiot lights work good or atleast come on and go off when its started. Even the original door buzzer works when key is in ignition which is pretty cool. The horn works too! - Both windows roll up and down smoothly. - The gas gauge does not work which Im pretty sure is a ground problem. The 3 aftermarket temp, oil, and alt gauge in dash all seem to work accurately. - Dash pad could use replaced or covered with the same color blue fabric. - I have both original blue bucket seats(in good condition) along with its original steering wheel that go with car. I will take pictures of the bucket seats and add it to the auction tomorrow(Friday).
