Vehicle Detail
1975 Chevrolet K10 shortbed fleetside 4x4 pickup, Silverado package, all original drivetrain, sheetmetal, wheels and paint. 350 ci engine, 4 speed w/ creeper 1st gear, NP205 transfer case, 3:73 axles, power steering, power brakes, factory air conditioning, factory correct tilt steering column that I added, factory dual gas tanks, aftermarket am/fm radio w/ speakers mounted in the doors. Sliding rear window. Still has the original spare tire. Stock height, never lifted. Truck spent its entire life in Utah until 2 years ago, purchased from original owner and brought to Michigan. Have original bill of sale, owners manual and sales brochures. Glove box option sticker intact. Never driven on Michigan salted winter roads, I keep it at my shop. I was going to do a restoration of it, but I just don't have the time and have another project in the works. I'd rather sell it than just let it sit until I can get to it. Engine: The engine was pulled when the clutch was installed this past summer, and it was painted before re-installation and had a new water pump, timing gear/chain, heads/valves redone at the time. It's been a good running engine. Drivetrain: New clutch and pressure plate with less than 200 miles on them. Trans shifts fine and 4x4 with factory Spicer locking hubs work as they should. The truck also has a new alternator, front brakes, exhaust, shocks, tie rod ends, steering stabilizer, ball joints, rear cab mount bushings and rear bumper. Also has new Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires with less than 50 miles on them, on the original rims. The air conditioning compressor cycles and blew cold air last summer. All gauges work except the ammeter, but I'll throw in another one. Dual tanks both work and switch over properly. Heater works. Body: If you're going to restore it, at a minimum it needs front fenders, cab corners and bedside patch panels. Tailgate works properly, but has a slight bow to it and surface rust. Doors have holes where below eyeline mirrors were mounted, as well as holes where speakers are mounted. If I was going to finish the restoration, I'd get new doors. Truck need mirrors. Numerous surface rust spots on the truck. Bodyside moldings are there, but that's about the best that can be said. They're pretty banged up. Truck has the original paint, which is very faded, needs a repaint, but a great color combination (Catalina blue/white two tone). If you're going to drive it as-is for a beater truck, the body is fine the way it is. Floorboards feel very solid, but I haven't pulled the carpet up to check actual condition. Cab, cab mounts and bed are actually pretty good for it's age. I had the bed off to replace the rear cab mount bushings and threw a quick coat of black paint on the frame from the cab back. The frame is solid. I've tried to capture the worst spots of the body in the pictures. Interior: Blue vinyl bench seat is in nice shape for its age, the vinyl has several splits in it, so I put the seat cover on it. Carpet definitely needs cleaning, and the headliner is sagging badly. Dash pad has several cracks in it. Glass is good. Driveability: Engine has been dependable and well running, but needs a little warm-up in extremely cold weather. I added the correct factory tilt column, steering wheel isn't aligned properly and is off center when driving. Needs front end alignment, that wasn't completed after the steering/front end components were replaced. With the weather being lousy here, I don't want to drive it on the salted roads to an alignment shop. Clutch pedal return spring makes a slightly annoying noise when pedal is depressed beyond half way, I think it wasn't reinstalled properly. Doesn't affect clutch operation in any way, works as a new clutch should. Overall, it's been a dependable truck that I've used for running around our town in nice weather. IF YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE THE TRUCK PICKED UP AND SHIPPED TO YOUR LOCATION, NO PROBLEM, I'LL WORK WITH YOUR TRANSPORT COMPANY TO ARRANGE A PICKUP TIME. IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE FOR A TRANSPORT COMPANY, AND PAY THE SHIPPING COSTS TO THEM. AS THIS IS A 36 YEAR OLD TRUCK, THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES FOR THIS TRUCK, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.
